Breast Reduction from Saline Implants to Silicone Made a Bit Larger - Ventura, CA

UPDATED FROM La NIque
13 years post

I have not had my surgery yet. I'm still searching for a Rivision Dr.

$15,000
I plan on having a revision with photos before and after this time now that I have a reason to do because of this site. It will be less then a year,
I have asked Several times has anyone here heard of Dr. Dubrow as I have heard he is a well know breast revision Specialist Dr. Of course he does other procedure. Dr. Nasiff if is a revision special list for rhinoplasy and I have seen in on many programs performing rhinoplasty revision. I will as for the third time ask this site or any other ladies who know Dr. Dubrow for a breast revision or their thoughts on these two Doctors. Perhaps the team can share their opinions on these two Doctors. It would be helpful as I'm searching and so want to have plenty shots of my nose before and after along with my breasts. Any knowledge you know about these Doctors would be very helpful
Any feed back would help so much since no one address my question after asking third time. It is becoming closer to my decision done the road.
Thank you for having a site like this. I wish it were around 20 years ago..I would for lack of a better word be botched or deformed. My last shot so please if you will give me feed back on the doctors in question. I would be very grateful.

Name is La Nique Please click on breast photo to enlarge so you will be able to see the botched breast, at least part of it. Here is how it went down. I was in capsulated. Fine I understand that can happen. He took out the implant and put another one in, which was the wrong size he had to redo it with a new implant, this created rippling. Took that size out and put another implant in, now I have a double bubble with the scar running right across the middle of my breast with the bottom half of implant hanging down. Bottom line, I had 4 surgeries on my left breast, simply when he tried to correct the first deformity, it created another and so on and so on. This is the KICKER!!!! I had my fourth surgery (he charged me $5,000 each time for a correction). My last surgery is being performed and I'm done, and I'm sitting in the recovery room, I look down at my breast and I see two half dollar size shape of puckered tethered skin. I look at the nurse and say, "what is this?" The nurse says OH MY GOD HE FORGOT TO SIT YOU UP. So the Dr.Bratner told me to wait for two hours while he does a liposuction on a patient. I waited. He took me back into the surgery room and performed yet another botched surgery on me. Like I said after all is said and Done I asked him please help me find a SPECIALIST that can CORRECT ME. Nothing...he walked away and I do believe he did not want another Dr. to see his botched surgery. I even laughed and said to him Dr. I look like Frankenstein's Bride....( I have a sense of humor) he smiled and let me leave with not even putting himself out to find someone for me that perhaps can eliminate the deformity at least a certain percentage. That is what infuriated me about his being so caviler. There are surgeries that can eliminate rippling and the Double Bubble. Surgery is not perfect, but to DISCOUNT a patient who is deformed and to at least not have the decorum, and empathy to take a seat and say I'm sorry how you feel and how this came out, but I will do everything I can to find a doctor who SPECIALIZES IN REVISON SURGERY....sure would have taken the Sting out watching him walk out of the room with a smile in the corner of his mouth when I said I look like Frankenstein's Bride Breast... can you recommend some one for me. Only to hear a NO. I live with the embarrassment as a single woman every time I decide to be intimate. Plus I cannot wear a bathing suite, lingerie, or any top if it is more then three inches from my breast bone. Everything has to be button up. To ad INSULT TO INJURY I read his notes of our surgery and he made a POINT to say she has a BOYFRIEND WHO IS YOUNGER THEN HER. Yes My boyfriend was several years younger then me, ( he guessed estimated) but we looked the same age, and what does that have to do with my surgery and his need to write that in a report. That is not professional to me. Why does he feel the need to write that in his report, is that an issue he has? What does that have to do with the price of apples....nothing. If you are reading this Dr. Bratner...you must at least pretend to care for your patient if you let them walk away deformed for the rest of their life. A kind word...please keep in contact and I will look for a REVISION SPECIALIST...anything to show you have empathy while I walk out of your door to spend my life apologizing for my Botched Breast. Compassion and concern you lacked, at least have a good bedside manner.

Not sure if you have seen this member's profile, DirtDames, but she had a breast implant revision with Dr. Dubrow. We'd love to hear how you're doing!

Dr. Hughes would be your best Dr. he isn’t cheapest, but again you get what you pay for. He graduated from Harvard solely in PS and also was nominated and won the top award while attending there. He has done my BA, My BBL this March and will be doing everything else I want. Please look at his reviews and stars: the ratings speak for themselves. He can be seen as “short” and to the point with his pt’s but he won’t lie to you and his consultations are free and can be initially done via email. He responds quickly and it’s him not his staff or a voice machine.
He also is affordable IMO. He’s not that expensive either. Good luck with everything. I hope you find your doctor. Also - just bc they are nice doesn’t mean they are the best! Go with the ones that were good medical schools and have many results posted on their websites of their own work!

Dr Hughes needs a show all on his own. I swear he’s going to be famous one day worldwide. He is in Venice ;)

Before I tell the story and how it came about...

Before I tell the story and how it came about having four surgeries on my left breasts, due to one botched area after another after each surgery to correct the botched surgery before the next one. I felt so hurt, and defeated when I said to Dr. Bratner my left breasts looks like the Bride of Frankenstein. I had major ripples in the cleavage area of left breast and a slight amount on my right breast, , and a double bubble keloid scar with the scar running right across half of my left breast. I said to the Dr. can you please recommend me to a SPECIALIST to correct his disfigurement...he just had a slight smile on the corner of his mouth and he said NO I CANNOT. That hurt so bad, that he would not go the distance to at least care enough for a patient who paid 5 times for one breast, to at least say, I will look around and see who I can find. Had he cared I would have felt so much better and accepted the fact I took a chance by having this surgery and blamed myself. When he could care less it felt like he was sooo glad to get rid of me. I'm an easy going person. Did not sweat each surgery and kept a positive attitude for both the Dr.Bratner and myself.

Hi there. A lawsuit popped into my mind for a second, but then I remembered the papers I signed sort of giving up my rights for a law suit. I must say....I hold myself responsible for having the surgery, but how he handled it was unconscionable. Yes I was charge $5,000 three times for each surgery (above and beyond what I paid him for the first surgery) he did to try to correct the problem he created over and over again. Someone said to me once why did you let him work on you each time. Good question and the only thing I could come up with at that time, I felt he created this problem so I felt each time he would know what he did wrong and he could correct it because of this knowledge of my breasts. I kind of even blamed myself for continuing on with him. Finally, I had to admit to myself, a doctor who does not sit you up to check out your breasts during the final surgery in order to see how they sit on the body, must be a doctor who was in a hurry to get me done and out of there. In his haste, when the nurse and myself saw the puckering of my breast immediately after surgery in the recuperating room), due to the fact he did not sit me up it cost him more time to make me wait for two hours and bring me back into surgery to undo what he did not do. No wonder my breasts were a mess. He was messy....he will probably sue me now if he sees this. It really bugs me to see in his report where he mentions I have boyfriend who appears to be younger then me......I was in shock when I read that a couple of months ago when I found his report and decided to read it. It is not his place to pass judgment me. He has every right to think what he wants to think, but to put it down on paper like that is some how going make me look unfavorable?????? End of Novel. Thank you for your comments.
I'm curious, what report? Like in an exam note from your consult? Unless you verbally expressed wanting your surgery due to your younger boyfriend I find it very odd that a doctor would note that in a medical record....very weird!
I agree with the why did you go to the same doctor but I understand why you did. What in the hell! He brought up that unnecessary information up who cares! And I am curious with revisiontime25,what report is this?
We all have to sign a waiver before we have surgery. All doctors dictate what type of surgery they are doing on us patients, then they give us our medical records if one asks for them. Why he would mention my boyfriend makes no sense to me. I never discussed my boyfriend with him nor did I have my breasts done because of my boyfriend. He met my boyfriend due to the fact my boyfriend came with me to meet the doctor and picked me up after surgery. I was not an older woman with a young guy...I'm fit in shape and pretty. I had no idea my boyfriend was younger then me...until later in our relationship. Maybe the fact my boyfriend at that time bleached his hair platinum blonde made the Doctor make an assumption, that he looked like a rock star... Who knows why he mentioned it. Had the doctor said in the report this woman seems unstable because she is with a man who appears to be a few years younger then her and I think she is having the surgery for all the wrong reasons, that would make sense to me he would mention an age difference but if that was the case he should not have performed the surgery if he felt that way. THAT WAS NOT THE CASE.. It was just simply mentioned in ONE RANDOM sentence in his report, He writes I noticed she is with a man that is younger then her...that is it!!!! No rhyme, no reason. Why does there have to be a reason. It is like saying to a woman who is battered badly, well you must have done something to cause him to do that to you? One cannot get in some ones mind he is only a human. Thank you for your comment and hope this clears it up for you a bit.
My sentiments EXACTLY...like minds think a like....smiling. Thank you for your acknowledgement!!!!!!
I found it odd too. When I read his report on what he was going to do regarding surgery, I was shocked to see that added to the report.
what does that have to do with anything my boyfriend was 7 years younger than me.
Wow. Your story is really heartbreaking. We choose "professionals" that are educated and skilled in their chosen field. If you can't perform the procedure then retire or refer out. Makes me sick to see doctors that treat patients like an inconvenience when THEY fail to perform what we pay them to do. I will need a revision at some point but my surgeon retired years ago. Stories like this remind me how important it is to research and read ALL reviews on any doctor I go to. Its not that the revision didn't turn out the way you hoped that makes me hurt for you it's the bull crap arrogance and entitlement he has towards someone he took under his care. No ethic or moral code.
Hi there. Thank you for your reply. I always felt Dr. Bratner handled his botched surgery with me wrong. I'm new to this site, but out of curiosity I typed his name in the search area and to my surprise there he was. Over the years when I see my breasts I think of him and how he treated the situation with me and I always wanted to tell him in a letter. I decided it would not make much difference to him, because when he had the opportunity to find a specialist for me at no cost to him he did not care, so a letter would mean nothing to him. I now have the opportunity because of this site to express myself in hopes he will see it....even if Dr. Bratner does not see it, it feels good to get it off of my Chest...even if it is a Frankenstein chest at the moment. I was recommended to him by a person who was happy with her results, so that is why I choose him. I did not have a revision, I just wanted the saline implants out because they felt uncomfortable. My reason for sharing this with you is......, I came to him with normal breasts...all in tact and just wanted the saline implants out along with a reduction breast lift. . I'm planning on having a TRUE REVISION SURGERY several months from now, and I'm looking into a Dr. named Dr. Dubrow who does a lot of breasts revisions. Nice sharing with you.... Have a fabulous Day or Evening...
I sadly have a friend that went through something similar with a renowned PS in Dallas. She too was having a lift but they took to much tissue and when everything was closed up it looked horrible. She has since had 5 surgeries with a team that does reconstructive surgery for breast cancer survivors. Her doctor didn't take responsibility either. Which is why they have you sign away all your rights pre-surgery. A consent should inform the patient of risk and cover the doctor, to an extent. They charge you for the additional surgeries as not to accept fault or acknowledge that the undesirable outcome was a result of them. Best of luck to you!
I went to him for my breasts due to my girlfriend's breasts came out very nice. He botched my left breast up three times and charged me each time $5,000.
Wow so sorry..how rude and unprofessional of him. I have had 3 surgies too and may need another one I'm still healing so we shall see but it has improved each time. Since u are in CA. My new dr. , Dr. Andrew smith, is a specialist is revisions, BA and breast cancer reconstruction specialist. He is located on Irvine, Ca. I hope u find the right dr to help you.
Hi there mrsb83. I will check your Dr. Andrew out. I'm also looking at Dr.Dubrow in Beverly Hills, I hear he also is a great Revision Specialist also. I too have had other breast surgeries, but never was botched at all like this Dr. Bratner. thanks for the tip.
Yes dubrow does amazing work. Have you seen his TV show "botched"?
Yes I have. Have you or anyone had a breast revision by Dr. Dubrow? Are you giving him a thumbs up only because of the show, which is a great show by the way. Also, thank you for your response...finally somebody heard me. Thanks a bunch!!!
Well his yelp reviews are more horrible vs good. But realself members CaliKat and DirtDames had there revision done with him and were on the show botched. Dirtdames was on season 1 for breast revision and CaliKat will be on season 2 in april.
Also mmama0f3 had a revision done of a TT too. She was on botched also I believe
Well that is very interesting....thank you for the share. I too will be on Botched for my breasts re-do from him this up and coming season. I'm a lucky person, as I will have two things fixed. I really appreciate your response.
I don't know who these people you mention are. I so watch the show and I do remember most every one. I don't remember dirtdames or Cali???? Perhaps that is not their real name on the show. There was a woman with many tattoos and horrible double breasts, she had a bikini business and a very nice husband. I believe they both were on the re union shows.
Ya the bikkini girl name on this site is dirtdames. And the other girl who will be on season two also name on here is Calikat. It's their profile names on this site :). If you go to the search box and type those names in you will find their profiles on here :)
And congrats on getting on the show!! Yay!! How awesome
KEWL. Thanks dirtdame came out great. Thanks for the tip in the search bar. I knew I could search for Doctors etc, but it never dawned on me for find a particular person. Hey, but how was I to know until you shared a person with me..dah..smiling.
Mrsb83, I planned on living with it for years. I watched botched and saw they were looking for candidates. I did not think I would have a chance, but I had my boyfriend take photos and sent them in along with a photo of my adorable Shitzu just for mirth. Next day I get a call and they want me in for an interview on camera etc. I was shocked. You have to jump through some hoops and sign a lot of legal documents even before you know you are accepted. I passed the video taping and meeting with both Dr Nasiff and Dr. Dubrow as I'm having two surgeries and will be on the second season in April and my first name is La Nique and I refer to my nose as looking like my Shitzu's (a dog) to small for my face. Funny I have not told ANYONE, but you. My sister had to know because they need someone else on the show besides me, for support and to build a story, as they do a lot of filming.
I can't wait to see you on the show! :) I hope all goes well This time for u! When's your surgery?
So did you have your surgery done by dr. Dubrow? New season is out and been watching :) hope all went well for u!
Im so sorry you went through all that, please just walk away from that doctor. Im sure you can fine a very good surgeon that can make you look beautiful again. I'm sending good vibes to you girl, everything is going to be alright : )
Thank you Nipe40 for your response. I've already walked away and I've lived with this breast for a long while and I say to myself I am not my breast, I am not my hair I am not my and so on and so on. My brain does not believe a word I say...at least I'm trying. Yes I am going to have a final revision surgery soon of which I believe I shall keep this site updated. I was looking into a Dr. Terry Dubrow. Have you heard of him. He is very well know for breast revisions. Thanks for your support...best to you forever and always. La Nique
My story is the same, sorry to say.constant pain.so many unethical Drs. Out there- do they not know about these websites!?!?! We deserve a free redo! Keep their names circulating! Good luck to you. Also- seems men aren't into breasts as much as we think- a nice booty gets them every time!
Thank you for your response. For me it is not about what a man prefers a nice booty or breast, but have a certain body part not botched so many times by one Dr. and not offering after the 4 xtra surgery to find me a specialist at no cost to him. Quite a lot of surgeons are aware of these websites. I was surprised when I saw my surgeons face on this site, although he did not have but one normal review. Maybe you should write a review about your Dr., as I did mine and fine some way to leave a message or what ever and let them know they have a review posted on Realself. I put my name on mine, simply because I don't care that he knows it is me... I told the truth with NO EXAGGERATIONS. My Dr. gave me a redo 4 times and charged each time. I don't think it would be wise for me to have a redo by such an incompetent Dr. Till later Buttercup...we will survive.
LaNique- thanks for listening- i had no idea so many "Drs." defaced so many women! After just a year of #4 set, my "Dr" was trying to sell me a 5th set!!! I shall take your advice.i did write a review but it disappeared when i hit SUBMIT. I had not bad mouthed him enough so i shall rewrite.thanks again & best to you. Butterccup
Hey you Buttercup. How frustrating it is to write from your heart and to have it erased...I hate that!!! My Dr. deserved it due to the way he handled me. Unfortunately I heard yesterday from a friend whom I have not spoken with for several years, who had a surgery by him, she shared he sent a letter to her THE DAY BEFORE HE RETIRED, which in itself if not appropriate A DAY BEFORE?? I say if your Dr. has not satisfied you the first or second time it would be wise to search for another Doctor. There is a saying...THE BEST PREDICTOR OF FURTURE BEHAVIOR IS THE PAST BEHAVIOR AND I THINK THAT GOES FOR SURGEONS. I'm going to a Dr. Dubrow Feb. 24th, for my revision on both breasts. I will be taken down from a 36 DD to a full C. For me size is not important ANYMORE. Beautiful shape is what is important to me. I told him I like round full breasts that are closer to together in the cleavage area an I like side breast. It make the waist look smaller...even though I'm a size 7 I still like that full, sexy round look, with no bony breast bone in the middle. Plus I like the nipple in the middle this way it will never look saggy, even if the breast do droop, that nipple put in the middle of breast will give the impression there is no significant sag. Have you heard of a Dr. Dubrow from the show Botched which is coming on for the second season in April. He is fixing my breasts. He is a revision specialist, so I will keep my finger crossed. Are your breasts Botched? If so you can put in a application to be on the show and if they are messed up they will fix it for you. You have to watch the show on the E channel and you will see where to write them and send photos. Better yet you can so to the internet and type in Botched and you will get all the info you need. Best of everything to you Buttercup
