Unskilled in Complex Rhinoplasty
This review comes years after having a septo-rhino with this surgeon who, at first, seemed to have a great bedside manner but after turned out to be dismissive. I had a broken nose when I was younger which was never addressed, and breathing obstruction on one side. I also wanted to straighten my nose and have slightly more definition. His primary ended up creating irregularities on the bridge that he at first dismissed as swelling. At the time, he offered a free revision and I didn’t want an open surgery, but it damaged my ocular area and created an issue with muscle movement under my eye that was never there. On top of that, my nostrils became asymmetric, to which he said “who is going to look up your nose?” I mean, seriously? As if I did the procedure for other people in the first place. I did it for myself. Plus, what kind of surgeon creates problems that weren’t there before? The unskilled one. He also made uncomfortable inquiries about my girlfriend, which I found unprofessional. Fast forward a few years, my right sidewall and tip have collapsed. I have air that accumulates subcutaneously in my right lacrimal area when I blow my nose, which it shouldn’t, and I have damage to either the oculonasal muscle or the nerves that connect the two. He also inserted a radix graft without letting me know beforehand, and that left me incredibly self-conscious because it showed through the skin as a bump. Not to mention an unsightly scar in one of my ears where he took the cartilage graft. Overall, he might be a skilled surgeon in breast augmentation and maybe facelifts since he does those a lot, but if you need a rhinoplasty, I wouldn’t choose him despite the fact that claims to be a scarless rhino expert. Don’t be fooled by the sleek offices and his smooth demeanor. Save your money and go to either LA or NY to someone who primarily does noses, even if it’s more expensive. Your life will thank you for making that choice. I’m now preparing for a major revision which will require not just a rhinoplasty surgeon but also an oculoplastic expert to fix all the damage that this surgeon left me with. Absolutely not worth my money and time. Too bad I’m past the statute of limitations in DC. Otherwise, it’s a malpractice case.
