Ariel N. Rad, MD, PhD, FACS

I searched for over seven years and consulted with a few providers in and out of the country before meeting with Dr. Ariel Rad. What stands out immediately about Dr. Rad is how focused, attentive, and professional he is. In addition to being a skilled surgeon, I also trusted his artistic vision. I enjoyed peace of mind throughout the process of getting my septorhinoplasty. I feel so blessed to say that I now have restored breathing and improved facial harmony. Dr. Rad delivered high quality results.

Background:
I am a healthy male age 60. My story is a bit usual in that I sought treatment because of a past eye issue called Ectropion. A previous face lift performed several years prior to me seeing Dr. Rad, caused my eye left eye to sag and droop away from the eye. That prior surgery was not performed by Dr. Rad. Because of my Ectropion, I did not feel, nor believe, that my left eye was attractive looking. In my research to resolve and fix this Ectropion, I sought out several doctors who might be able to not only understand my concern about my eye, but also one who could delve right into the flaw and defect of my Ectropion, to resolve not only the physical nature of Ectropion, but also the aesthetics of my eye (and overall face).

As I live in Tampa Florida, I had consultations with a half dozen local doctors. Each of my consultations with local Florida doctors turned out to be a waste of my consultation fee because the local doctors either thought that my eye was perfectly fine and that I could live with the slight droop and sag of my left lower eyelid or did not appreciate my aesthetics concern. As such, I broadened my search for doctors outside of Florida including Washington DC. That’s how and where I found Dr. Rad.

Dr. Rad's website specifically states a procedure called "Cat Eye" Canthoplasty/Cantoplexy to help "one whose eyes tilt slightly downward and/or whose outer lower eyelid contours appear to be “sagging." Canthoplasty/Cantoplexy can help those who have Ectropion. As such, I made a consultation appointment with Dr. Rad at his Washington, DC office. Dr. Rad understood my concerns both physically and aesthetics, and advised me that Canthoplasty/Cantoplexy would resolve my Ectropion. I agreed to have Dr. Rad perform the "cat eye," along with a mid-face lift and eyebrow lift.

Surgery:
Dr. Rad was very attentive to my concerns right before surgery and calmed my nerves. Dr. Rad cares about his patients. Dr. Rad listened to any and all questions and concerns that I had prior to surgery, and answered them all. And after surgery, Dr. Rad took my phone call from his cell phone two days after surgery, when I had a few questions about my recovery. Having Dr. Rad "on-call" for my questions really impressed me. But more importantly, Dr. Rad answered my concerns about bruising and swelling. As you can imagine, just two days after surgery, a patient can have mental and physical stress/distress. Dr. Rad was there, to talk to me the first time I rang his cell phone. I felt assured after speaking with Dr. Rad about my condition and recovery.

As I write this now, I am 3 months post-op. My Ectropion is completely gone. The "cat eye" procedure not only resolved my underlying issue of Ectropion, but also gave my eyes a fresher look. Yes, the eyes are slightly tilted like a cat, but not so much where it looks unusual. The bottom line is that I received exactly what I asked for: "cat eye" that resolved my Ectropion--forever! I thank Dr. Rad from start (consultation) to end (end of surgery and now several months post-op). I not only recommend Dr. Rad for his face surgeries, but I recommend that prospective patients see only Dr. Rad for any and all of your facial surgeries. Should I ever have another surgery on my face (though unlikely), it is mandatory for me to have it done by Dr. Rad. Thank you Dr. Rad for resolving my Ectropion! I never thought it could be done, especially after speaking to the local Florida doctors who seemed to brush my concerns aside. “Recommending” Doctor Rad is an understatement. I believe that a man or woman must go to Doctor Rad because of his skill and care for his patients.

Following a course of chemotherapy, Dr. Rad was present for my bilateral mastectomy and he placed my tissue expanders. Months later, once I healed from radiation treatment, he performed my DIEP flap reconstruction. Dr. Rad is a consummate professional and a precise and skilled surgeon. He took copious amounts of time with me - whether in person or over the phone - and consistently answered my questions in great detail and with a tremendous amount of patience. My emails and calls were always promptly returned by his staff even if they did not immediately have an answer for me. Scheduling appointments was very easy. My breast cancer diagnosis came as a complete shock. Navigating this new terrain was often difficult, but Dr. Rad made the reconstruction piece easy. I trusted him. I feel lucky that Dr. Rad was my surgeon for my DIEP flap surgery, and I recommend him to anyone in a similar position to mine.

I cannot say enough about Dr. Rad, his attention to detail, the way he explains procedures, the cleanliness of his practice, and most importantly, the way he truly cares about his patients being happy with everything. If you're considering a facelift in the DMV or even if you are travellling, I 100% recommend Dr. Rad and I say that as a seasoned medical professional myself . His team are also incredible and I'm so happy I chose him.

I had several facial procedures done with Dr. Rad about 6 months ago, including mid face implants, endoscopic mid face lifting, buccal fat removal, and hairline advancement. One thing that drew me to Dr. Rad is he has a great aesthetic eye and is able to help you come up with a plan to address your concerns. Often times it may not be the exact procedure you walk in requesting. For example, I did not initially think I would want facial implants but after the consultation I realized this is what I really needed to achieve my goals. He is definitely up to date on the latest techniques in plastic surgery and is great working with patients of both younger and older ages. The trend in plastic surgery now seems to be doing interventions earlier rather than later and Dr Rad was great working with me to make small changes that are helping me prevent signs of aging (I am in my early 30s). Another feature about Dr. Rad that is great is that he is specialty trained on so many different facial procedures. Many plastic surgeons are not trained to do specific procedures such as implants, endoscopic lifts, and hairline lowering. Because of his training you will be able to get all the surgery you need done by him and avoid having to go to multiple surgeons for different procedures. Overall, I had a 10/10 experience, and I am going back for another procedure next month and that says it all.

My first surgery was with Dr. Rad- from start to finish everything about the experience was amazing. Dr. Rad and his team made me feel so comfortable. Each appointment he took his time answering all my questions and concerns. 3 months post opt, my results are better then I ever could’ve imagined and exceeded my expectations in every way. Best surgeon and best experience. Cannot recommend Dr. Rad enough!

While I have not been treated by Dr. Rad to-date, I had 2 recent consultations with him for the same procedure. I was incredibly grateful for the amount of time he took and how meticulous and focused he was in his approach. I believe he has great aesthetic and technical skills (and I genuinely liked him as a person to boot). The only thing stopping me at this time is that my procedure would require general anesthesia for an extended period of time, which I am trying to avoid. [He and I also discussed this at length, and he thoughtfully detailed his methodology and why he believes it provides the safest and best outcome for both doctor and patient, etc.] Having plastic surgery and selecting a surgeon is an incredibly important decision, which I take very seriously. I am committed to research and have consulted with over a handful of the top surgeons in NYC as well. The bar has been reset with Dr. Rad. A truly exemplary experience.

I felt in good hands with Dr. Rad since the very first consultation. He handled my breast reduction and I could not have picked a better surgeon, he was with me every step of the way and listened to my thoughts without pressuring me.

From consult to post-op, Dr. Rad has been incredible. He is kind, LISTENS, and has stellar bedside manner. His work speaks for itself as he is the king of subtle changes and beautiful results. I would highly recommend him and would absolutely see him in the future should I desire more work.

Dr. Rad is an amazing doctor and an even better person. If you want a doctor who is going to listen to your vision and execute this is the guy. He prioritizes his patients and their happiness along with being with you post op. I am blown away with my results and I am only a couple months healed. My nose looks natural and improved and turned out exactly how I had hoped. Couldn’t be happier with both my breast implants and my new nose that being said I recommend Dr. Rad 10/10!
