Let me start of by saying i don't often write reviews, but in this case felt compelled to do so. I'll apologies in advanced for the long read :)

BACKGROUND
I'm an Indian male and like most Indians i originally had a masculine; long; sharp nose with thick skin. Unfortunately in my case it was overly large with protruding hump on the bridge. After many many years of wanting to sort the 'problem' i decided to go for surgery.

PRIMARY RHINOPLASTY (Not Mr. Tahery)
For my Primary Rhinoplasty I chose a Surgeon in Prague, i unfortunately based my decision of surgeon heavily on the amazing before/after photographs he had on his website. He was also a somewhat of a 'celebrity' surgeon; appearing on Czech TV programs.
There were however some warning signs; which at the time i put down to myself being nervous and decided to go ahead with surgery. This was a big mistake and one that i would regret for almost 3 Years! .......

PROBLEM'S POST-PRIMARY RHINOPLASTY
I came out of surgery in Prague with a nose having 'ALL' the features which i dislike in a nose, I've never been keen on noses that are wide, have a scooped profile and that are pigishly upturned to the point it exposes the view of the nostrils, yet this is exactly how my nose came out looking. It looked deformed and so unnatural, you could immediately tell that I'd had surgery. On top of all the cosmetic errors i also had my breathing diminished.

Obviously i was devastated to say the least, i believe surgery failed for a combination of reasons; my surgeon had 7 other operations to perform the day of my surgery so i was most probably rushed, i also believe he was considering his own vision of my nose ahead of my vision. I would also say any surgeon that would leave a nose in the state he left mine cannot be considered competent.
Though i was eventually offered a revision, by this point i had lost all trust in the surgeon and his abilities, so i decided to cut my losses and began my search for a specialist who i could trust to fix my nose.

MY SEARCH FOR A REVISION SURGEON
I spent almost 3 years speaking to many surgeons from all over the world. From curiosity i did count the number of consultations ive had and let's just say I'm too embarrassed to say the number!
Though my consultations and internet research I quickly came to realise that projecting/lengthening a nose is one of the most complex types of Rhinoplasty surgery. In other-words, had i found the right surgeon in the first place my surgery would have been A LOT simpler, and i now had to find a surgeon with exceptional skills to perform the following: -
- Lengthen my nose (using grafts)
- Build the nose bridge (to hide the scooped profile)
- Attempt to correct the breathing problem
- Narrow the nose
- Narrow the nostrils (I've opted to do this separately)

MR TAHERY
After the many many consultations i stumbled across Mr. Jawed Tahery on the internet, though admittedly i had never heard his name, he had positive reviews (with photos) which tended to evolve around how trustworthy and talented he was, so i decided to see him for a consultation.

CONSULTATIONS
During my first consultation i found that Mr Tahery was keen on listening to exactly what i saw through my eyes as the problems with my nose, and he genuinely seemed interested (sounds simple, but a few surgeons seems more interested in selling what they think looks good to them).
From our initial conversions i felt very comfortable with Mr Tahery, sometimes when you meet someone; you know if you're going to click and become friends, and that exactly the feeling i got. It also seemed we were on the same page as to what ethically looks good.
I had brought in some computer projections for what sort of nose i was after, but ultimately i confessed that i was not after perfect results but a nose that was improved and worked somewhat towards the correction of my above mentioned dislikes.
I was under no illusion, and understood that sometimes surgery does not go as planned, but it was important for me that the surgeon would be someone that i could trust to be there after surgery in that unfortunate event. I am of no doubt that Mr Tahery would be that person.
I saw him another 2 times before my surgery in December, but in all honestly after the first/second consultation i had already decided that i would go with Mr Tahery. I think it was the fact the my primary in Prague was such a disaster that i became pedantic in all the questions i was asking, but Mr Tahery was patient and all too happy to answer.

SURGERY
On the day of my surgery i arrived at 7am, and was shown to my room. Mr Tahery came into see me and answered any last minute questions. I really appreciated this, once again Mr Tahery and told me that he would try his best, and i had no doubt he would.
After surgery, I think i woke up for a few seconds (i think it hadn't been long after surgery had finished) i wasn't in any pain and recall lifting my hand over my face to feel for swelling. I heard Mr Tahery tell me there was no bruising and that surgery had gone well, i told him i appreciated his effort, and i drifted asleep once again.

The night was unfortunately uncomfortable; not being able to breathe through your nose (due to the packing), but that was always going to be the case. To anyone having Rhinoplasty, bring lip balm and lots of Chewits to keep your lips and throat moist.

OVERALL THOUGHTS
About 2 weeks after my surgery my cast was taken off, i was delighted by the initial results. Mr Tahery had done an excellent job, my nose now suits my face! I hope once the swell goes down it looks the just as good.
I consider myself lucky for not only finding a very talented surgeon but also a good person in Mr Tahery, my nose was a very complex case, and must have taken a lot of skill and effort to correct.

I think the nose is a funny old feature of the face as it is not only bang on in the centre of the face it is also the feature that projects the furthest from the face. If there's something ive learned, it would be never to let anyone you don't fully trust as both surgeon and person take chance with your body.

EXTRA's
The below list is what i did/wished i did. I am by no means an medically clued and suggest you speak to the surgeon prior to doing anything.
- I took Arnica after surgery - not sure how much this helped, but i has no brusing.
- Brought a neck pillow, when you go home it might be suggested you keep your head above your heart to help the swelling.
- Bring Lip-balm and Chewits (or some other sweets to keep your throat moist), you will be breathing only through your mouth which will dry-out your throat and lips
- 2 weeks post op - im now also taking Bromelain to help the swelling further.
- I brought ice packs, but i had no swelling around my eyes and cheeks, so i did not use.
