Strangulated Hernia

WORTH IT$6,300
I gave birth to a 10lb baby girl. I have struggled a losing battle with minimizing my stomach area for years. I recently found out I have a strangulated hernia. I opted out of surgery and decided to get a tummy tuck.
Last week I went in and had a consultation and since I am paying cash for procedure I am now scheduled Wednesday 08/26 for my procedure. I will update after.
I am nervous and anxious at the same time no longer having to suck my stomach in or wear a compression garment just to fit my clothes For a year I’ve searched for a reputable surgeon. I feel confident in my decision
I am 2 days pre-op... come share my journey.

Surgery Day!!!!
JustALittleHelpAugust 29, 2020
First of all I would like to thank and praise the employees at Cypress Surgery Center and Dr. Shaw’s office.
Surgery Day: Checked in was a breeze I got there 15 mins early, by 7:38 all my papers was signed and I was checked in. Everyone came and introduced theirselves, the nurses was very friendly. Dr Shaw came in and drew scribble lines everywhere. I looked like a road map... lol. I was given a IV, a heart monitor sticky on my back , pulse monitor on my finger. I was give a sedative to relax (cause ya girl was nervous as hell) 8:10 I was wheeled into the surgery room. I remember being transferred to a slim table on this foil body pack that actually keeps me warm. They place a gas mask over my mouth & nose. Okay so I’m looking at the ceiling trying to figure out why the hell are they plug sockets up there and I woke to the most chirpiest nurse.
Like hey girl you Up!!!! , as I’m looking for the plugs I realized I’m in a whole other room and I looked down it’s gone!!!!!!! That big solid mass of scarred tissue that’s been growing and haunting me for 10 yrs is gone. And babbbbby that stomach as flat flat
They get me home and propped up on pillow wedge and additional pillows. Feet propped. Mom (flew out from outta state to take care of me) urges me to drink cold water (dooooooont do this unless you’re ready, and please take tiny sips)
That damn water was so cold felt like a brain freeze in the middle of my soul. I fussed and jumped up. Whew Chile that pain. Jesus I was ready to kill her, my husband and kids. Then it happened
I Earled so hard and long all that cold water and then some. Dizzy in pain and now soaking wet. Throw up everywhere. They gotta move me again to get soiled bedding. They pain. Omggggg the pain.
I knew right then and there I’m gonna have push myself to heal well or these crazy people gonna off me. I forgot to mention the many times I was bumped. Them all trying to adjust me. Their hands felt like ants. Yes I snapped. In not the nicest way I warned them to stop f*ckin touching me and leave me the f*ck alone. If they’d didn’t leave I’ll find somewhere to hide they’re bodies....
I rested well. Lmao I think I heard my mom n husband whispering about my sanity. My 15 yr son went in the room and texted me that he’s team mom and my 10tr, 6ft, 160lb body wrecker. Slept with me holding my hand.
Prayer for me y’all... lol

Thanks for keeping us updated! Did you get the exparel pain meds?
August 30, 2020
I did get a prescription for pin as well as Control being nausea. But I haven’t had to take a pill since Thursday night. The pain wasn’t as bad as I thought I would be. I practiced deep breathing and lil by lil did things slowly myself. Today I walked to the livingroom to have a change of scenery. Got up to use the bathroom and walked like every 3-4 hours. I still can’t stand up straight and stomach area is numb. But I’m not rushing.
Before this surgery I was active and no underlining health issues. I think that’s one of the key benefits to this Almost painless recovery.
