absolute worst experience of my life

Honestly if I could leave zero stars I would! I had a tummy tuck done by Stanley Harper. He told me that he had some magical block that works for 90% of people with very little pain after the procedure. I voiced my concerns about pain management and he called me in one Norco 5mg every six hours. Keep in mind this is an extremely invasive surgery. He slapped a “no opioid” bracelet on my wrist and I told him before surgery I would need something stronger and he said “I don’t do pain medication.” I woke up from surgery in the absolute worse pain I could ever imagine. It felt like my entire abdomen had been lit on fire. Come to find out they gave me zero pain medication intraoperatively. He finally did call me in Percocet after I was extremely upset post op. I was given some oral pain medication which barely touched my pain and told by the staff at the surgery center to be quiet as to not concern the other patients. They dumped me out of there in about 45 minutes despite being in agonizing pain. On top of it all he did a terrible closure on my left side and I came out of surgery with a blood saturated dressing and was told it would be fine. That side of my incision looks terrible because of the poor closure. Three weeks or so later I develop a seroma and a wound dehisced on my side. He told me to just let it heal on its own and I walked around for three weeks with an oozing wound. Finally I demanded it be closed and said I would pay for it I just wanted the wound gone. He agreed and told me he did me a favor and the anesthesiologist waved the anesthesia fee (still had to pay him despite the trauma he caused me by not giving me pain medication after an extremely invasive surgery). I wonder why it was waved? Because he was negligent. He was supposed to fix the dog ear I developed on the other side and the closure didn’t even correct it. I was left with a longer scar as a result and still had the same dog ears. Stanley Harper took an oath to do no harm as a doctor and a surgeon and he definitely did harm to me by letting me wake up from surgery in absolute distress. Capital surgery center threw me out as quick as they could despite the agonizing pain I was in. He charged me again for the closure despite his negligence and complete lack of empathy. He had a very condescending attitude towards me throughout the entire ordeal. 10/10 would not recommend letting him touch you with a scalpel. He doesn’t do pain medication and will leave you to suffer and suggest his block will take care of it all without letting you know he’s not going to give you anything. I never requested pain medication for longer than one week. I simply wanted pain control right after the procedure and for the first week following the procedure. Then he passed the blame on the anesthesiologist, acting like he forgot to give me pain medication. No he did his job and didn’t give it to me because he slapped a no opioid bracelet on my wrist and treated me like a drug addict. I also have extensive numbness of my abdomen over a year later and after surgery he told me he gave me extra numbing agent. Can’t help but wonder if too much of that has contributed to this numbness. His block didn’t work for me and left me in terrible pain. Never again will he get a dime from me and I will never recommend him for anything to anyone I know! I should have went with my gut instinct and went back to Dr. Janet Turkle despite the distance. She is empathetic, listens to concerns, and ensures your ELECTIVE procedure is not anymore painful than it has to be
