1 Year Post-Op Update! (Revision with Dr. C)
Just a quick update! I'm 1 year post-op my revision surgery with Dr.C (Dr.Goldberg) and I uploaded a review for him which you can find through my profile once realself uploads it! I can say I am 100% happy with the function and look of my nose. Just genuinely really happy and glad to move on from all this. :)
11 month post-op update (Revision Surgery with Dr. C)
Another update for my revision surgery I had with Dr. C to correct the mess smith left me with! So I'm almost 11.5 months post-op now and I can say that I am overjoyed. Things have continued to improved and my breathing is even better than before! My nose looks amazing and continues to look great as the swelling goes down. Again I do have a lot swelling and overall trauma to my nose after 3 surgeries (1st surgery: botched by hacker, 2nd surgery: mess left by smith, 3rd/final surgery: amazing results by Dr C). Still kicking myself for even considering Hacker or Smith.
I will leave a more thorough update once I hit my 1 year post-op this April. I'll be creating a review for Dr. C as well. Again I have had a lot of people message me saying they have also have had poor experiences with Smith and other doctors. You can message me in regards to wanting to know who I had my last surgery with, my experiences with some other consults I've been to, etc. Or just if you want to talk, being botched or ending up with poor results is an experience that not many understand. I might not respond right away as I don't check realself too often, but I do check!
I've reiterated this throughout my review, but please be careful when you choose your surgeon. Seriously, a lot of reviews are fake (no pics, no response from the poster, these reviews generally are similar, etc). I've seen people who clearly have a collapse (i.e. inverted-v, etc) and their doctor tells them that their nose is 100% fine, it's in their head, lets just put filler in it, etc. Again these "doctors" won't have their best interest in mind.
If you think something is wrong and I'm not talking about small imperfections (i.e. too big, a little wide, too pointed, etc), but dents, shadowing (i.e. inverted-v where you get the upside down v shadowing as a result of the upper laterals collapsing, etc), pinching ,etc. Do get a second opinion and if you do go I would maybe not mention the name of the doctor who did your surgery as I found that you'll get a different response versus after you tell them (i.e. At one consult a doctor stated they would recommend xyz and once I told them smith did my surgery their response/behaviour changed).
Honestly I assume it's because many of these doctors know one another, particularly in the GTA where there is somewhat of a limited selection. But again there are a lot of genuine and truly amazing doctors out there. I saw many of them in my search and so many were truly kind + genuinely appeared to want to do what was best for me (i.e. I had a great experience with Dr. Ashlin Alexander, Dr C, plus others). But yeah, do be thorough and be careful with whoever you choose. Again feel free to message me! I'll post my next update at my one year this April! :)

Update!
Just wanted to give a quick update! I had my 2nd revision with another Dr (Who I will call Dr C for now) this past April to fix the problems Smith left me with. I am almost 9 months post-op and I can say that I am very happy with my results so far. Dr C fixed majority of the issues Smith left me with.
Dr C fixed most of the issues/concerns I had. They corrected:
-Breathing (It is 100% now)
-Runny nose (this returned shortly after my surgery with Smith, but now 9 month post-op my revision with Dr. C my nose no longer runs)
-Crookedness (Although not 100% because of what Smith did, it is pretty straight now and really not noticeable at all and it doesn't bother me)
-Alar collapse/dents (Dr. C fixed the alar collapse Smith left me with/worsened. So not only is my breathing better because the airway has been opened up from the collapse being fixed, but the dents are gone)
-Alar retraction/nostril flaring (This was an unexpected suprise! Dr C improved the retraction and it looks great. Again Smith stated that retraction can't be fixed or it's not worth it, etc...But it is possible for a skilled Dr)
-Pinched tip (Dr C fixed that up alongside the alar collapse, so my nose looks great. The tip no longer looks like it's separate from the rest of my nose of a ball. No cartilage showing through the tip either!!)
-Deep Crease/line/pinch (This goes along with the alar collapse/pinched tip. I had a deep crease/dent/pinch that went from where the crease met my cheek to the end of my nose tip. It looked awful. Dr C fixed that up!)
-Internal Scarring (Smith left me with scarring inside my nose that was causing breathing issues, congestion, runny nose, etc. Dr C removed the scarring and fixed it up!)
I honestly to this day regret going to Smith. I wasted a lot of money (18k!!) going to a doctor that was not as skilled or experienced as he presented himself. It's been a long journey from when I was first botched (with David Hacker) and had a poor revision (Smith). But I am almost 9 months post-op and things have only improved. Again I am still being cautious and waiting until my 1 year to post a review for Dr C. But things have been good. I can breath 100%, my nose looks great and Dr. C was amazing.
Dr C was honestly one of the most genuine doctors I have ever met. They truly wanted to help my in whatever way they could and genuinely wanted to help people. They cared for their patients. They were 100% honest with me and explained everything clearly and calmly. Meaning that they explained why they would recommend xyz or didn't recommend xyz or was going to suggest/do xyz, etc. It was the complete opposite compared to my experience with Hacker and Smith. Hacker wouldn't let anyone question him or anything (quick to anger). Smith basically wouldn't hear it and would just hmm and haww over things. He'd purposely be unclear or not be straightforward, etc (just wanted you out of the office).
Idk Dr C is just a great Dr and from start to finish my experience with them and their office has been nothing short of amazing. The day of my surgery Dr C sat down with me (I was huddled up under a blanket, just really anxious because of my previous experiences) and spoke softly with me and explained everything. The one thing Dr C told me was that they promise me that won't leave me worse off and they'll do everything they can. And they did :) Again at my 1 year (in a few months from now) I will leave a full review for Dr C (with their name, etc). You can also send me a message and I can let you know through there. I just want to wait until 1 year so I can say with 100% confidence I can recommend them and not jump the gun like I did with Smith.
Dr C gave me a nose that is supported and will still function and look good overtime. All I can say after wasting years of my life to this is that I am truly happy and can't wait to hit my one year. I wouldn't recommend rhinoplasty to anyone, but if you do go forward with it be careful of who you choose. Many doctors have fake reviews, have reviews removed, etc. That's how I got in my situation. Again feel free to message me and I will get back to when I can (I don't check rs too often). Again in a few months I'll create a new review for Dr C! :)

Overall was not worth it. Fixed some issues, worsened others and created some new problems. Didn't feel like he truly cared at all and made numerous excuses or reasons as to why I have xyz issue. Kept giving excuse after excuse and denied there was any collapse. I have since had a revision with another doctor (I will call them Dr C until I leave them a review) and I can now breathe and my nose looks good. Smith is not truly as good as many of these "legit" reviews will tell you. Look elsewhere as he will leave you worse off and then deny any issues.
