Thigh Lift Journey in South Jersey

Hi, I've been researching local plastic surgeons (PS) for two years now. I currently live in South Jersey 20 minutes from Philadelphia 40 minutes to Delaware and two hours from New York. I have visited at least seven different plastic surgeons and driven two hours south to Baltimore, Maryland for a consultation with plastic surgeon there. I finally have decided to go with the very first plastic surgeon that I've Visited in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, Dr. Scott Brenman. My criteria for choosing him was the fact that he has had the most experience performing thigh lifts.
I have chosen the surgery date for Friday, February 14th, Valentine's Day 2020. I have completed the pre-surgical testing done at the Penn Medicine Hospital, which is another reason for choosing Dr. Brenman doing the procedure at a at the hospital as opposed to a surgical center. This is something I have wanted my entire adult life. My thighs were always so much bigger than the rest of me. After loosing 50 pounds on Weight Watchers and keeping it off for 8 year's I knew I had to work on me. In 2015 I had a tummy tuck, with a PS who is now retired. Loved my results. Truth be told I'm so scared! I've seen so many horror stories and photos of this surgery gone wrong. I'm praying I am not making a big costly mistake. Recovery will also take time and patience from me. Thank God I have an understanding & supporting Husband & family willing to help me through this. I'm determined to leave photos and as much details of my journey so others can learn from my experience. Keep me in our prayers.

best of luck you will do great, my best piece of advice is to take it super slow and baby your legs, you dont realize how much you use and how rough you are on your legs until they cant really be used. Rest, ice, compression garment are your best friends.

Thanks for sharing your journey. May I ask your stats..age, height and weight? I am 58 and lost weight..92lbs with VSG 5 yrs ago. I am recovery from a tummy tuck and arm lift I had on 12/30/19. My legs are a huge mess and I would love to do them but the doctors I spoke with were not interested in doing the surgery. I live in NYC. Thanks.

Hi Finediva, After you pointed it out, I should have included that information. I'm 62 years old, 5'2" 155lbs. Thanks & good luck with your search.

Omg! I am 58, 5'3 and 152. We have almost the same stats. I carry the majority of my weight in my legs..VERY heavy legs. Always have. After the weight loss, I continued to lose from face to waist, but the fat stayed in my legs. Genetic

My greatest challenge has been going to he bathroom. Only slight burning sensation along the incision area. I took one oxycodone on first day home. Anesthesia has been an issue with me always. I was throwing up the first day after surgery and nauseated the following.
Day 3 after my shower I put on my compression garment with the slit on groin to go to bathroom with out having to take everything off.

First 2 days were only tough due to the nausea from The effects from anesthesia. I took one pain pill on 1st & 2nd days only. The actual incision only felt slight burning Sensation. I’m able to walk around our apartment easily. Sitting on the other hand had to be done very carefully.

did you go to another appointment yet, or ask about the flanks. the sutures look healthy in my opinion look great. some people's body agrees with surgery, where others' don't. to me your skin looks in awesome condition. let us know.

Hi Michelle, Thanks for the compliment. I'm my own worse critic. My Doctor wants to wait for the swelling to do down before proceeding with the lipo. I have a destination wedding in June that I want to be totally healed for!
