36 yrs old, Implant Revision with Strattice

I've been searching and searching and haven't been able to locate many reviews for implants that use strattice so here's mine. :) In January of 2015 I had mentor moderate plus, silicone gel placed under the muscle. 500 cc on the left and 450 cc on the right. IMO we overcompensated on the left and it wound up much bigger than the right. Anywho, I begin weight training shortly after and I believe it displaced my left implant. Between that and the rippling in my left breast I became very unhappy with my breast and decided to go in for revision surgery. I received 3 consultations and these were my options given:

Original surgeon: 14k worth of alloderm to address the rippling. He really didn't address any of my other concerns
Dr. Matthew Steele: replace left implant with 450 cc (same as my right) use strattice to keep implants in place and help with the rippling and tighten the left pocket for $8500.
Dr. Perry Johnson: Replace both implants with gummy bear implants for $6500 or just replace left with 450cc and alloderm for $7600.

I elected to go with Dr. Steele as $14k was outa my price range and I didn't want to run the risk of only doing one implant and then having them end up completely off.

Before Pics & 2nd Revision deets

So yesterday my husband and I made the trek from Omaha to Sioux City to have my revision with Dr. Matthew Steele. We arrived as to told to at 0930 for my 1030 appt. I got into the room and got situated as Dr. Steele was working another patient. I didn't actually get back to the operating room until approx 1330. During the wait I started having a bit of anxiety but I appreciated the fact that Dr. Steele was really taking time to work on his patient. I think I was in the operating room for about 4.5 hours. The Dr. told my husband everything went well and that I would be happy with the outcome.

As far as the pain, it's much greater then it was with my first BA. I'm thinking this is because of the addition of the strattice making it a bit more invasive.

Currently they have me taking Valium, OxyContin, an oral antibiotic and a pill got nausea.

As you can see drains were put in place to keep the fluid from building up and to help the strattice incorporate into my body.

In one week I go back to the Dr and will hopefully have the drains removed.

Congrats on your revision! Super happy for you and hope that you're feeling OK. I have rippling also, on my left one in the cleavage area. I'm just curious if your surgeon mentioned what he thought the cause of your rippling was??? Did he create a whole new pocket for your breast that had the rippling?

Hi! I'm not sure if he created a new pocket but the rippling basically came down to not enough tissue. :/ in thin patients it happens. The strattice was really the only way to fix it besides alloderm which is super pricey. My Dr said he preferred the strattice because it is thicker & stronger.

I am the queen of breast revision having mine done at least six times now. One doctor even told me it was because I was too old ( only 58) . I would highly recommend that you do nothing for at least six weeks ..i mean nothing and when you do start to work out I'd limit the kinds of exercises you do..aka push ups. I also wore a sports bra to bed and still wearing one four months after. It's a drag that you had to go thru this again and I feel ya..it's just a shame that the original doctor wouldn't take time to fix your issue, which is exactly what happened to me. kf

So I am officially off the pain meds as they were just making me to constipated and feel icky. Just taking the antibiotics and Tylenol now. My drainage output has went from about 50 to 25 output a day. I've been reading they don't like to take the drains out until it's 20 or less a day. Fingers crossed I'm there by Tuesday for my follow up appointment. I'm ready to get these things out!

What’s that taped all over your breast?
