Although I didn't end up choosing Dr. Stella, I am still writing this review simply because RealSelf has been so helpful to me so I feel inclined to contribute as much as I can.
I emailed Dr. Stella's office back in November to inquire about a rhinoplasty. The receptionist, Tanya, got back to me quickly. I really appreciated Tanya giving me an up front estimate of the cost of rhinoplasty, which she told me was $6,000 on average. I wanted to make sure I knew that Dr. Stella was actually an affordable option before I dropped $75 on the consultation fee.
I did a ton of research and learned enough about Dr. Stella to be confident she'd do a good job. However, the deciding factor for me to see Dr. Stella for a consultation was that the estimate Tanya had given me, $6,000, was the lowest I found in the Seattle area. I know you shouldn't go based on price when choosing your plastic surgeon but I'm a college student and I live on a budget.
A few weeks later I came to Dr. Stella's office for the consultation and imaging. The office was nice. One complaint I have here is I felt like I was left waiting for longer than I should have in the reception room. I asked one of the assistants for some examples of Dr. Stella's previous rhinoplasties and ended up waited another good twenty minutes in the consultation room until I came out to remind her to bring the pictures, thinking she'd forgotten about me. To be honest, I wasn't super impressed with the rhinoplasties I was shown. It's not that they were bad, they just weren't quite perfect in my opinion.
When Dr. Stella finally came in I told her my goals for my nose and that I really like Lana Del Rey's nose. She took some pictures and went to do some imaging for me. The imaging was perfect! Exactly what I wanted. Se did a front view, a profile view, and a 3/4 view which was great and really helped me visualize the results. She explained that Lana looks like she's obviously had rhinoplasty and Dr. Stella doesn't like that style and prefers to go with a more natural look. I feel like the imaging she did incorporated the element's of Lana's nose that I really like, while still keeping my nose looking natural. The imaging didn't make me look drastically different, it just eliminated the things I dislike about my nose, making me look like a better version of myself. While the imaging was amazing, I felt like Dr. Stella didn't go over as much detail as I would've liked and she didn't explain the procedure that well. At the end of the appointment she gave me a quote of a total of $6,870 for the 3 hour rhinoplasty. The breakdown of those fees were $4,100 surgeon's fee, $1,800 facility fee, and $970 anesthesia fee.
After 3 consultations with 3 different surgeons, I chose Dr. Sattler, a slightly more expensive surgeon, from Sound Plastic Surgery in the University Village. I'm sure if I'd gone with Dr. Stella, the results would've been just fine but my main concern was just that the results wouldn't be quite like in the imaging, simply due to the other work of her's I'd seen.
THE END!!
