5 weeks in and my skin is looking great!

4 weeks on 30mg and just over 1 week on 60mg. My skin has never looked better I don't have any active acne, first time I can say this is many many years!!

As for the side affects - the tendinitis I had before has completely gone and I am back at the gym (which makes me think it had nothing to do with the medication) My eyes are also not dry any more and my skin is not overly dry, my lips are dry but not extreme. So far I would say the side affects are very minimal and I barely notice them.

Nearly 1 month in....

This week I have tendonitis and sore joints in one knee and I can feel the other knee starting - This is bearable although I wont be going to the gym anymore! (It is most likely a combination of the medication and going to the gym most days which will also put a strain on my knees) Only my face and lips feel dry the rest of my body is fine - this may be down to how prepared I was with moisturiser from day 1.

I have noticed on occasion that my eyes feel dry although this has only happened twice. I used Optrex rehydrating eye drops - Once seems enough for the whole day.

My skin is still looking good the blackheads on my nose have significantly reduced and I haven't had any major breakouts! I have noticed that the acne that was there before is taking a LONG time to clear - I guessing the skin finds it very difficult to heal while on Accutane.

In 3 days I will double my dose to 60mg - I will updated again after a week or so on this dose!

I have had acne since the age of 11, mostly on...

I have had acne since the age of 11, mostly on forehead, around mouth and sides of face, with occasional break outs on chest and back. I have tried most antibiotics and topical creams with no success. 3 years ago I started taking the pill (dianet) which has helped slightly with reducing the number of larger spots. I started taking Accutane 30ml 2 weeks ago. I take the capsules with a high fat (usually fish) lunch and wash down with a glass of milk. So far the only side affect I have noticed is dry lips. I use Johnsons baby shampoo for my hair and Johnsons baby oil for leaving the shower and E44(for very dry skin) in the evening. For my lips I use Vaseline and Vitamin E stick from the body shop. And vitamin E night cream for my face also from body shop. I go to the gym 5 times a week and I haven't noticed any muscle aches.

My acne itself has dried up already and there are no new spots appearing (first time I can say that in 15 years!) I have read a lot of reviews that its gets worse before it gets better, so I am still bracing myself for that. After a month I will double my dosage to 60ml. I will keep this updated with new progress and any side affects that may appear.
