Very Happy with my New Nose
Ethnic Rhinoplasty with Mr. East
For a very long time, almost twenty years I have wanted a Rhinoplasty, I have always felt that my nose was too big for my face and quite masculine. I’m just under 5.7 and quite athletic so I felt like my nose was too big for my face.For years I researched for a plastic surgeon that performed ethnic Rhinoplasty. I watched many youtube videos and I was not impressed by the ethnic rhinoplasty. Majority of the surgeons for ethnic rhinoplasty were either in the United States or Turkey and even so I didn’t like the after pictures.Whilst watching an influencer on a completely different topic she stated that she underwent a rhinoplasty with Mr. East, I noticed that her nose looked very natural and she had an un-operated look, I would never have guessed that she had a nose job. After doing my own research I immediately scheduled an appointment with Mr. East.During my appointment with Mr. East, I emphasised that I wanted a very natural look that suited my other features; I did not want an operated look. I wanted a smaller, elegant and feminine nose. I’m from an African descent and did not want a Caucasian nose but a nose that complimented my face. Mr East explained the process and what the nose job will entail. I was very happy and excited after the appointment which was a zoom call due to Covid. I had my second appointment in person after lockdown, during the appointment Mr East created the morph and I got to actually see what my nose would look like after surgery. The size of nose was made smaller, the side profile was very elegant, feminine, my nostrils were reduced and the shape slightly changed, I asked if the nostrils could be reduced further but Mr East advised that it will look unnatural for my ethnicity, I accepted that as I definitely did not want an unnatural look.On the day of my surgery I was extremely nervous, I was very nervous of going under general anaesthesia, from watching many youtube videos I noticed that the side effects was nausea and sore throat. I arrived at the hospital at 7 in the morning was introduced to my nurse Don who was assigned to look after me, after settling into my room, the anaesthetist James came to speak to me, I told him of all my concerns and he advised that I have nothing to worry about that I am in the best hands. Before my surgery, Mr. East also came to see me, went over what he will be doing in surgery which also assured me that I was in good hands.A couple of hours later I was moved to a room close to theatre, I was prepped for surgery by the nurse, the anaesthetist assistant and James the anaesthetist, as I was lying down just having a normal conversation about work with the nurse, the next thing I knew I awoke in another room surgery completed, I awoke a bit drowsy with two nurses by my side taking my vitals, its like I just had a short sleep and that was it, no pain, no nausea and a cast on my nose, I couldn’t believe that was it, surgery completed.After surgery Mr east came to see me, he advised that the surgery had gone well and that he was very happy with the outcome, he advised that I should follow all the instructions by my nurse and he will see me in a week. Even with the cast on I noticed a difference with my nose.For the rest of the day, my nurse Don looked after me very well, He advised on the pain medications and aftercare. I could not have asked for better care. I was discharged from the hospital just before 6. My surgery was on Monday 26th October and I saw Mr East for cast removal the following Tuesday. When the cast was removed, I was very happy with my new nose, it was smaller, feminine and very elegant, just as I wanted it. I couldn’t be more happy. My new nose has given me new found confidence. We are still in lockdown but apart from my family no one has noticed, I saw a friend, she looked at me and asked did you get your lips done, you look really well, she noticed a change but she could not pinpoint what I had done. I waited two months to post this for my swelling to go down as apparently it takes a year for all the swelling to go down, but I must say I'm happy with my new look.For anyone looking to get a rhinoplasty, i'll advise you to do your research, to listen to your surgeon, take their advice but most importantly don’t worry, I spent weeks worrying about general anaesthesia all for nothing, I couldn’t even remember when I was out its like one minute I am having a conversation and the next minute surgery completed.
