Revision Rhinoplasty/tiplasty- Rib Cartilage
I have had 2 previous rhinoplasties which had left me with breathing problems and an over-rotated and over-projected piggy nose. I tried to get these resolved in UK but found the UK surgeons werent able to deproject the nose. I tried to get at least the breathing issue resolved on the NHS, however i was eventually told that they couldnt resolve the issue with any surgical intervention and advised life long steroid sprays which i had alreadt tried and did not find helpful.
Dr Yazar was suggested to me by someone for which i am very grateful.
I had a video consultation and felt very comfortable with the surgeon and how that went. Dr Yazar was promptly available to answer all my queries directly before my trip.
I scheduled the trip and Dr Yazar saw me the day i arrived and spent a good 3 hours with me in consultation into the evening. He planned my surgery in detail using morphs. Dr Yazar had all the equipment in his office to examine my nose internally for the breathing issues and identified immediately what the issues where and explained in detail which not even the NHS UK Drs had done. Dr Yazar was confident that these could be resolved relatively easily. After my last bad experience in Turkey i had vowed not to trust there again but im glad that i did.
The following day i had surgery and Dr Yazar was there by my side when i woke up and told me he wanted to be present when i woke up to assure me that everything went well which i appreciated. The only negative i would have to say is that i was told that the scar for the rib graft would be about an 1inch long and that he would try and keep it as small as possible as i was concerned about scaring however it is 2 inches long. This is however not a significant issue now to me as in comparison the breathing is improved along with the aesthetics of the nose. I am only 2 months post op and breathing is fluctuting due to swelling fluctuating, however i can already tell that it will be better than before. My nose is still swollen and swelling appears to be coming down assymetrically so i will continue to update this post but my nose already looks better. It is derotated and appears to be deprojected although difficult to tell with the tip being so swollen.
The rib graft area was quite sore for the first few weeks and id say tender for a month at least but now im feeling normal regards that.
Dr Yazar was very freindly, polite, caring and down to earth. He was easily accessible and the aftercare so far has been great too. Even now he responds to my questions promptly and often directly.
His assistent Yildiz is also lovely and very sweet. They both make a great team to provide you with good care before and after the prcedure and do not want to just forget or abandon you after like many other surgeons.
After all the bad experience i have had i am relieved to have experienced good service and so far good results. Its still early to draw a final conclusion but i will update this post every few months.
