He'll Change Your Life

I know this is what Dr. Westreich does for a living, but he has truly changed my quality of life. This procedure was a revision of a bad rhinoplasty from 1998 and a septoplasty in 2007 that wrecked the structure in my nose (both performed by a different doctor, out of state). Since then, I've had trouble breathing out of the left side, and my nose had this bizarre, collapsed look on the right.

I talked to a lot of other surgeons before Dr. Westreich, and within about 5 minutes I knew he was the person who could help me and the person I would trust. There are only so many times you can manipulate the structures inside the nose, and I knew this could be my last shot. And if something went wrong, it's pretty hard to hide something in the middle of your face. All I can say is, I'm so glad I went with my gut.

I'm only a couple of weeks post-op, and functionally, I’m thrilled to already be breathing so much better. I might actually be able to eat and walk at the same time, since I don’t have to breathe through my mouth!

For the aesthetic part, I initially felt horribly shallow in wanting to change it. But during my first consultation with Dr. Westreich, I think he could tell that this problem was haunting me, and he pointed out that this is an aesthetic issue that was affecting my daily psychological well-being. This was a problem that I woke up with every day for 13 years, hating it every time I’d look in the mirror. I’d wear my glasses even when I didn’t need to, hoping they would draw attention away from my nose. I hated every photo that didn’t catch me at just the right angle. All of that is gone. The post-op swelling means that I'm not totally at the final result yet, but it’s already exceeded my wildest expectations. He’s an artist and a miracle worker, and I’m so lucky to be his patient. I feel like I struck gold.

I also want to thank all of the staff in Dr. Westreich’s office. Pulling off the coordination of a surgery in the midst of a pandemic is a massive group effort. Crystal had infinite patience with me through the entire process, and Carissa, Celine, Laura, and Ossy are all wonderful.

I probably sound like I'm over-selling it, but to spend more than a decade cringing at the sight of your face, then to suddenly have that albatross disappear, is an extraordinary feeling. If you're thinking about rhinoplasty, he's the man to do it.
