Need advice on doggie ears. Will lipo suction...

Need advice on doggie ears. Will lipo suction help remove them or is flankectomy necessary? Im getting lipo mid back, lower back and flank with Brazilian butt lift but doctor recommends extending tummy tuck incision approx. 4 inches towards back. Im very confused and nervous. Please help advice.

HI I also had a full TT with MR and Lipo 3 years ago and was never happy with the side and back muffin that was still left. I tried Vaser Lipo awake with another PS and all it did was made the skin look worse and looser. That's when I finally went back to my original PS and we decided to do a skin only extended TT which I hadon't done 5 days ago. I cannot be happier with the results already he removed all thay loose skin once and for all and extended my scar about 3 or 4 inches. Best of luck!

I agree lipo made mine worse. I need exactly what wannabfatat40 had done!

Did you also have to redue your belly button or did they know do skin only on the dog ears ?

I had doggie ears removed approx 6 inches. Dr considered it body lift which freacked me out but huge difference. I regret not getting it done sooner.

Dr cut approx 1-2 inches into front tummy tuck incision n wrapped it around my hip to my back. Belly button was not touched.

I dont think lipo will help removing dog ear!
How much is the doctor charging you if you dont mind me asking?
March 22, 2016
Well I went in for a "doggie ear" repair only and ended up with a bit more. Total $8,500 for lipo in 3 areas (mid back, lower back, inner thigh), brazilian butt lift, fix doggie ears, and inject my own fat to my lips to shape them. I have thin lips. Its a package deal. I think the repair for doggie ears only was approx $1,500.-$2,000. Im going to have it all done in two days. Im very nervous.

Your right Lipo would have just made it worst. Dr said he did Lipo before removing them to see how it would look n he said the skin was very loose. Glad I did It. I had other work done but I think doggie ears only was approx $2,500. Since I had other work done he gave me a great deal.

I am almost 3 months post op extended tummy tuck w/Mr and I have a dog ear on one side. My ps wants me to give it 6 months to settle before determining if it needs revision. I will be charged for facility /anesthesia if so. I was talking to wannabefabat40 also because I have quite a bit of loose skin still that I am not happy with and may need to do the mini skin repair that she did. Just not sure how I feel about the same PS since he doesn't seem to see a problem with it, as I asked him about it yesterday. If you trust your new PS I would prob do what he recommended. I was torn between 2 and now wish I had went with my gut and went with the other doc.

I had my tummy tuck done in 2005. Since then I gained approx 10 pounds. My yo-yo weight might have caused it to be more noticable or possibility stretch even more. It really bothers me and looks horrible when I wear bikinis and i have muffin tops w/ any jeans. I do not want the 4 inch incesion on my back but after lots and lots of contemplating, I have decided to do it. Im very nervous and not sure if my first PS is to blame. He should have known exactly how much skin during my tummy tuck or at the very least warned me what to expect. Its not common to have 4 inch incisions on my back extended from front tummy tuck. Decided to take a chance with new PS in New Port he has 5 stars and was recommended from a friend. I'll update once all is done. I pray removing the doggie ears is worth the whole ordeal

ty for sharing your experience. How is the scar? Im hesitant on getting another scar but at this point I might have to out weight the scar to the excessive doggie ears. I have been extremely stressed out trying to out weight the pros and cons. Also, how was the recovery? ty

Well today is day 6 and I really don't need any pain meds maybe just one b4 bed so I can get comfortable enough to fall asleep. The pain with the original tt was much more intense because of the muscle repair. This time was skin only. I needed help for a day or two getting out of my recliner and then getting back into it but today I'm doing everything myself. I'm trying to take it easy though since I have no drains. I understand ur hesitation about having another surgery and extending the scar....it took me over 3 years to get the courage to do it. I have to say that I'm so much more excited about the outcome this time around already even the the 3 to 4 inches extension on the scar! I figure it's low and super thin so it will easily be hidden whereas the loose skin could not be hidden at all.
I feel as though it actually lifted my thighs in front a bit too as an added plus lol.
Let me know if u have any other thoughts since I understand your ordeal completely

Ty for your advice. I'm at day 8 after surgery n today, finally saw my doggie ears are gone. Huge difference. I'm so glad I had it done. Dr suggested I wear compress garments at least 2 months. My extended scar is approx 6 inches. I also weighted it out, no scars w doggie ears (can't wear bikinis comfortable), muffin top or scars wear any type of clothing comfortably on a daily base. Also had bbl but only 400 cc bc of limited fat in my body. Seems as everyday the bbl fat is reducing but giving me a natural full shape. I wish we could have gone a bit bigger. I will admit recovery seems forever and not being able to sit for two weeks is frustrating. What type of scar creams are you applying? Are you able to walk at normal speed? Over all please advice what else I will be experiencing? Ty

I guess it's one day at a time. Some days you feel pretty good and then tend to overdo it and other days just a bit more sore. For me at this point being just over 3 weeks I feel like I am feeling 75% back to normal. I am sleeping in my bed again. My incision is healing nicely and the main area or soreness is on both hips. Those areas feel irritated if I try to put on jeans or anything that rubs that area. My left hip still has residual bruising and a hard lump that the nurse told me would resolve on its own. I see my PS next Monday so I will talk to him about it. As far as scar cream....I never used any last time and I'll ask the ps if her recommends it this time. I'll post updated pics again soon and I hope to see yours as well. Take care for now.

Day 5 after surgery

I'm very swollen. Not wearing body compressor or girdle to avoid reducing hip fat injections. Wearing leg compressor but might cause a dent below butt on leg bc it's not a full body compressor. Last day of pain meds need more. Took a look at flank removal n looks 100 x better. No more doggie ears. Frustrated bc can't sit, can't sleep haven't gone bowl in 5 days. Took fiber one n waiting for it to work.
