I Don't Know How to Feel About my Septorhinoplasty. - New York, NY

I always hated my nose and it also made me feel insecure about my looks. I went to see a Ent doctor because I couldn't breath through my left side. He told me the best procedure for me is a septorhinoplasty due to my deviated septum, dorsal hump, crooked nose and bulbous tip. The procedure was ok but I got very sick right after. I think I vomited blood at least 10 times that day. Anyways, it's been really hard dealing with the healing process. I look at my nose and take photos and I feel like I don't see a difference from before and now. In two days I make 2 months post op and I still feel it looks crooked. I might need to get a revision. I would love to know your opinions?

To me your nose looks good but its hard to see if it looks the same or not as you only have one picture posted of you before. If you post your front view, sides, and 3/4 view of before and after than we can compare and tell you what we think. But over all to me your nose looks good. Remember 2 months post op you still significant amount of swelling. And if you have thick skin your retain swelling even more so than someone with thin skin.

Thank you and I am trying to find old pictures of my nose to upload. It's hard to find pictures because I didn't really feel comfortable taking photos.

I think it looks much better! It does look a little crooked but i only noticed because you mentioned it. I think it looks fine, I wouldn't get a revision.

Your nose looks smallers - even in the pic straight after cast removal. And your bridge is straight! Can you breath ok now? Im having trouble breathing still after my septorhinoplasty and im a month post-op :/ I think you should have a little talk with your surgeon so he can check how your healing and whether there is alot of swelling in places you think are troubling you...i would give it 6 months before judging it too much yet. Damn healing takes sooo long!

also one side appearing "crooked" or uneven is because they had to move your septum which causes swelling (usually on the side your septum was bent toward) that is completely normal this early on i asked my surgeon about it today

Thank you for your feedback sammy94. I always had a problem breathing through my left side and as of yesterday I am having trouble breathing again. I cant see my surgeon till the 16th of this month. I really hope it's just swelling and not once again crooked. I hope you feel and heal better and thank you.

My surgeon gave me a steroid spray today to help my breathing - my breathing changes alot too - sometimes im completely blocked sometimes just one side, he said its swelling both in my septum and my lateral bones or something like that so i hope that helps? Youll feel much more at ease once you can finally have a word with your surgeon, i felt so upset and unsure about my nose untill i seem him today so just wait till you see him before you stress too much. Just have faith in your surgeon and know that it can be fixed if your not happy. If you have any more questions just ask away aha i was asking 101 questions today i feel like a expert ;)

You can definitely see the difference..you are a very pretty girl and your nose fits your face pefectly in my opinion..take your first head on shot pre op and put it directly next to your last pic post op..Big difference

Thank you for the compliment. I was actually looking at old pictures and comparing them to my new pictures. I started crying because I finally feel confident in my own skin.

If you're looking for opinions, I think your nose looks wonderful. Very natural, but much straighter and somewhat smaller. I have had a revision and still was not able to get my nose totally straight. It's improved and I've decided that that is all I can really expect. You're a beautiful woman! Get out there and enjoy being pretty and young. :)

Aww thank you so much. I'm glad it looks natural and smaller. I just have to understand that I was born with a crooked nose and now it's better but not perfect. Thank you for your kind words and your a beautiful woman as well.

I'm starting to feel a lot of pressure on my nose. It feels like somebody hit me in the nose and it gives me a really bad headache.

Hi there! Congratulations on your surgery. You are gorgeous and the changes draw us to your amazing eyes. Today is my 1 year anniversary of having the same surgery as you. Let me assure you what you see now is not the finished product, you still have a lot of swelling in the lower region of your nose. There is a big difference from the post op pics to 2 months. I hope swelling going reveals a straighter nose in time. All the best.
