39 Years Old, BF 3 Kids, Going from a 32A to a B, Considering 235-255cc Mentor Mod Profile, Submuscular (Want to Stay Small!)

I've always been small chested and have a lifetime of padded bras and swimsuits. Even though I've been self-conscious about my breasts, I had never thought seriously about getting implants until this year. After breastfeeding 3 kids, my tiny breasts are just deflated and worse than that, my nipples are droopy as well! I realized that I was getting self conscious being naked in front of my husband and it wasn't until I saw a girlfriend's BA that I understood that implants don't have to look fake.
MY GOAL
My goal is to come out with a moderate to full B. I like the way Kate Hudson looks and don't want large breasts. I'm currently an 32A with a BWD of 10.5". My doctor was recommending an incision below the breast since I breastfed and the nipple tissue is weak. At my first sizing, I liked the 235 and 255cc Mentor mods.

MY FEARS
-Capsular Contracture!
-Toxicity of the silicone implants
-Others finding out (my husband knows and is very supportive but I'm not telling anyone else including my family or even my BFF)
-My 35lb baby wanting me to hold her and I only have help for the first two weeks
-Getting the wrong size/shape
-The pain of recovery!

Would love to hear how others have overcome these fears and if you've had a positive or negative small implant experience!

Hi there! All I can say is all the worries you have listed I think have been the worries of many but a bit like the pain of child birth they are pretty soon forgotten! Not all experiences are bad there are lots of good ones on here. I stopped reading what COULD happen, if you go through life worrying about the bad stuff we'd never do anything would we. So enjoy and look forward to a sexier more confident feeling you for this summer. No one noticed I'd had it done as always wore heavily padded bras and those I did tell said I looked no different. But naked I am and thrilled with it :)

Thank you Donnab1! It's comforting to hear your experience and perspective, and that no one noticed. Good luck to you - it looks like you just had your BA :)

It's been nearly 6 months now. The time has just flown and I am very very happy. Hope you will be too with your experience and result :)

Thanks for posting. I have many of the same details: 39 years old, BF three children, am a 32A and would like a small to medium B, not a C at all. I'm also in NYC. I haven't seen a doctor yet because I'm just at the beginning of my process, but wanted to let you know I look forward to watching your progress!

doddfj, thanks for sharing and good to know we have similar profiles and goals! What doctors are you considering? I went to Dr. Mark Sultan and Dr. David Hidalgo. I settled on Dr. Hidalgo.

I was a 34 A pre- surgery. Went with 235cc's mod plus teardrop shape cohesive silicone Mentor implants. In May -2017 I will reach my 2 year post op mark. I'm loving my results as they look very natural & are the perfect size for me. I'm a very active person & I don't feel like the implants are hindering me in any way. As for recovery, I think it varies from person to person. Mine was relatively painfree. The first 3-5 days are a bit painful. Just listen to your body & rest. Wishing you the best with your surgery. Feel free to check out my profile.

Thanks so much for sharing your story Sofianord! It means a lot to hear that it all went well and you're happy with your surgery. I'll definitely check out your profile.
February 14, 2017
Hi Sofianord, Did you have your implants placed above or below the muscle?
February 14, 2017
They are placed over the muscle & under the fascia. It's called a subfascial placement.

I researched a lot and Rapid Recovery is not any more money and you are back to yourself in 2 days! I have 6 kids and the pain is nothing no antibiotics or painkillers which is the only way I would go. I am planning on Dr. Kirk Moore. Maybe a second opinion.. might help relieve some of these fears

Thank you jenn37! I didn't know about rapid recovery- I will definitely ask my doctor to learn more.

2 weeks away + sizing appointment

I'm two weeks away from the big day! I had a sizing appointment with Dr. Hidalgo and reiterated my goal to be a medium B and appear natural. He said in his experience, I should get the biggest size I could stand since most people's perspectives adjust quickly post surgery. Here's a photo with 235cc on the left and 255cc on the right. My first inclination was to do the 235 since that's what I usually look like with padding and I'm comfortable with it. But he convinced me to go with 255cc. He said I have broad shoulders and with a smaller implant, you would have a wider gap between the breasts and perhaps look a little more fake.

So here's where I'm headed:
-255cc submuscular mentor mod profile
-incision in the crease (he offered through the nipple but said dents sometimes happen during replacement due to weak breast tissue from breastfeeding AND replacement would happen in the crease so why endure two incisions?) Also, the rate of capsular contracture seems to be lower in the crease due to infection through the nipple.

What do you think about the sizers?

Hi, I'm due my surgery the same day as you and have the same goals :-) Currently a 36A and wanting to go up to a full B small C cup. Also have 3 kids and post breastfeeding have been left with nothing but sag and skin it feels. My doctor recommended 300 cc mentor mod plus which I quite liked in clothes but think will be too big for me naked or for exercising and I'm getting them for me so just really want to feel comfortable with them. I've asked him to get the 250's in as well and given him some pics of my ideal boobs (very natural looking not too big) and said he can make the call on the day between size versus what looks right diameter wise on my chest wall. He has said he will try to get me as close as he can to my wish pics so we shall see! Good luck x

Wow, it's great to have someone with similar goals and background to share the experience with! What is your BWD? My doctor seemed to want me to consider bigger, but it just looked way too big on me. I'll be rooting for you!
February 1, 2017
Not sure of BWD, but wide enough to need the moderate plus for diameter not just the fact I felt the high profile were too obvious. Haven't started a review yet will let you know when I've done it so we can compare progress etc. :-)

I have the same stats but a BWD of 12.5, so the smallest I could go was 275cc. I ended up with 275cc mod + and they are just a little too big for me. I'm thinking of downsizing to 225 moderates. I was a 32A before, now I'm a C-D cup. Looks okay in clothes but huge in a swimsuit. And I didn't tell anyone except family about them so it will be awkward going anywhere tropical with friends. Also my nipples are always erect (which is really common after augmentation) so I have to wear a thicker bra that makes me look even bigger. Stick with your gut! Stay small if that's what you want.

Arethereanynamesleft Thank you so much for sharing! Now I'm thinking of going with the 235cc based on your story. I really appreciate it.

I had my BA/Revision performed December 5, 2016. my BWD is 11.5 , 125lbs, 5'7" and was looking to reduce from 34DD bra size to a more athletic build. Doctor place 255cc extra projection 410 anatomical silicone implants beneath the muscle. This size is very comfortable for me. I got sized at VS 1 month after and was told I was a 32dd; however, I am smaller now - thinking a small D or large C. I work out 5 days a week and enjoy not having to wear mega support bras anymore more. Stick to your goals. Most doctors are worried about patients having boob greed after surgery. I was concerned about going so small, but my doctor based his final decision on our discussions and my body type and measurements for a perfect outcome.
February 4, 2017
Wow, thank you for sharing your story. I'm sorry you went through all of this, but it sounds like you are happy post-revision. Thanks so much.

This Thursday I am going in for the lift portion of my BA. I am still very happy with my size. I can do cardio/box jumps etc with a light support sports bra very comfortably now. Or I can wear a padded bra and look as I did before surgery. Listen to your doctor and don't be swayed. Large implants will stretch your sink and my require a lift in the future. Good luck.
February 3, 2017
They both look good, but I would stay as small as you can. Believe me, they will begin to feel/look much bigger over time and can make you look matronly as you age. You want to look fit, not fat. Best of luck to you!
February 4, 2017
That's a really great point, Joanne. I will keep that in mind! Xx
February 3, 2017
What is your height and weight? I am 5"4" 106lbs. I'm getting 255 silicone undersea on March 02. My bwd is 11. I'm a small b cup now.
February 4, 2017
I'm 5'6" and 125lbs. I'm now leaning towards the 235cc!
