I'm more than halfway into my 6 month treatment...

Accutane, you scare me
3:09
I'm more than halfway into my 6 month treatment and more than anything (dry skin, mild temporary eczema on my hands, nosebleeds, impetigo on my lip from the dry lips, dry eyes) my dry lips have been the worst of it. I found myself putting on lip balm every 15 minutes or so just to keep my lips from cracking and bleeding. Once I realized how often I was doing it, I looked at the ingredients and knew I could do better for my body than all the crap jammed into these tiny things. I found out that most of the lip balms on the market actually work against you (which is why I kept having to reapply). NOTE: I am aware that Accutane is not JUST Vitamin A and so it's chock full of stuff that's horrible for your body, but I came to a point of desperation with my skin. Lip balm is something I use often and so when and were I can, I wanted to lower the amount of harmful chemicals in my body. I ended up having to create my own lip balm and as a result of being on Accutane and how well it works (because it is literally the only thing that helps to soothe and protect my lips).

She's super patient and that really helped since I was so nervous about going on Accutane I couldn't see straight. I'm very grateful I waited until I found the right doctor to start this.
