I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Balakian and the entire office
of assistants and receptionists!
I chose Dr. Balakian after extensive online research and review of his
education and qualifications. After reading the pros and cons of
choosing a plastic surgeon versus a facial plastic surgeon, I felt that
it made the most sense to choose someone who specialized in the
complexities of the face for rhinoplasty.
Dr. Balakian really listened to what I wanted, and didn't recommend
any additional surgeries for me. I liked the shape of my nose, but
wanted the bridge straightened so that my nose would appear more
symmetrical in photos. After a lifetime of suffering from allergies, I
also had my septum completely redone and opened up based on Dr.
Balakian's recommendations. He even added in a sinus surgery.
I am already very pleasedwit h my results. My nose is perfectly straight, and Dr. Balakian also added a few aesthetic touches to soften the overall look too. I can
also breathe much better than I did before! In addition, my results
are subtle. No one can really tell what's different, I just look
better, ESPECIALLY in pictures! I no longer have to fear the camera.
In addition to a great skill set and an artistic eye, Dr. Balakian
also delivers on the follow-up. I felt like I could reach out to the
office with any questions or concerns, and they really go above and
beyond with the follow-up appointments.
However, make sure to have realistic expectations about the surgery.
For me, having both the septoplasty and rhinoplasty meant that the
first week was quite uncomfortable and painful, and it really takes a
full three weeks to feel like yourself again.
It's all worth it in the end though, so if rhinoplasty is something you really want, I strongly recommend Dr. Balakian and his staff!
