I have always had huge boobs. I have also enjoyed them. Until I had children. My husband and I got married and had out first baby at 20, I breastfed. Then another baby 4 years later. I recently finished nursing her. We are finished having babies. I'm ready to deal with my breast. From breastfeeding & them being so large they feel & look like watermelons. I sit at a desk all day & have neck pain like something awful. I also am athletic and run a mile or more & do weights on my lunch each day. I don't like the attention anymore & have two small kids to chase around ??. Obviously they are to big for my body. I just hope insurance don't give me any issues. I will be seeing Ben Johnson in Birmingham Al. I'm terrified to be put to sleep but trusting in God.

It is a big decision, serious and long recovery, you must be prepared to be out of action for minimum 4 weeks...assuming no complications. Ensure you have support at home to do all the housework for you. I am just 3 weeks from my BR and still must take it very easy, lucky my husband took 4 weeks of carers leave and helps. Most important make sure your health is good, get a good check up, obtain a very supportive wireless sports bra that will hold your new breasts very still without pressing too much on the stitches under your breasts....It is hard to go shopping for one after the surgery! Keeping them still for minimum 2 weeks, holding your arms near your body (like River Dancing without hopping:)!) will ensure the healing of the inside tissue goes well! I made a mistake as didn't feel much pain and moved around with a normal bounce...while my bra was not supportive enough...consequence was fluid build up called SEROMA, that had to be aspirated via niddle. Otherwise all good with me, no infections, good shape...from 34GG to I think ...34C ..still hard to say as swelling is still there. It is big step but VERY MUCH WORTH IT! All the best!

@jess46211 thank you! I will!

@irena888 thank you so much for replying! I'm so nervous. I need this. however I can only be out of work a week. I have a desk job. I could probably take more time if I had to I just took a lot of time on maternity leave so I don't have it built back up yet. Which I'm sure by the time Insurance approves it will be later in the year. what could you do a week after surgery

Hi, it looks like everyone goes through this in their own way. The recovery is so much depending on your own health, on the doctor's skill and how much you follow the recovery instructions. With me ...I felt very little pain after the surgery and felt too happy just to walk around with my usual energetic bounce while my post surgery bra was not compressing enough...consequence was built up of the fluid called seroma, that had to be aspirated, this prolongs the healing process. So whatever you do have a good compression post surgery bra, keep your hands near your body (alike River Dance but without hopping), no lifting your arms above your shoulder, no reaching no pulling, stay still for the first two weeks as much as possible! Get someone to dry you after the showers...do not try and do it yourself..not in the first week at least. The more still you will be the better the internal healing! Keeping clean staying away from catching any germs/viruses, take high doses of Vit C as it helps healing, Arnica helps with bruising. I was advised to take both of them 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after the BR. Eat healthy and ask lots of questions of your BR surgeon/nurse, so you do not make a silly mistake that may prolong your recovery process. BTW I am 4 weeks from my BR tomorrow and all good, still some pulling, numbness, still sleeping on my back elevated...just in case. For your information I am healthy 63 year old and retired with my husband spending 4 weeks with me on carer's leave...but I hear some younger ladies do go to work much sooner. My surgeon didn't allow me to drive until after week 3.
Good luck!

Is your appointment tomorrow? Mine is Thursday, I've been waiting almost 7 months for it and I'm super excited! I'm also trying to get it approved by insurance. Good luck! Please keep us posted! :)

Dr said he's sure insurance will approve and I will have drains & stay overnight.

I got very upset knowing I would have to stay the night, I hate being away from my children. I also hate the thought of drains. The thought of being put to sleep freaks me out. I'm trying to stay positive. The Dr said he could get me to a C or D. He said I was big (which I knew). I just wish I could snap and it be over. Hopefully I'm making the right decision! He said I NEEDED this. He also said he would make my boobs look good again. I wish I knew someone else who used him. Anyone from Alabama??

Hope you have a good experience...I'm still on the fence about it. I'm a 36G. About what size are you? Are their any good bra shops in B-ham? I live in Florence, AL.

Hello neighbor:) I live just east of you in Huntsville and have been reluctant to have a consultation yet but need to do something. I have not been able to find any decent bra shops in the area that cater to us large breasted ladies especially after I surpassed H cup. I have been ordering mine online thru bigger bras. Not all that comfortable but they do carry brands with large cup sizes

Also a few of my friends work at the hospital he does his surgery at and they says he's the best! I'm waiting for my approval from insurance from his office. they had to do a different letter

Changed Doctors

bearbear1005
I took these at work today, ugh I lm so self conscious! I changed doctors to Dr Wetherington in Rome Ga he's supposed to be awesome & also not make me stay over night. I have BAD anxiety about staying in hospitals & also being away from my kids overnight. I'm hoping to hear back from insurance this week! I've already been approved through the first dr but have to do another approval since I changed doctors

Best of luck to you. Curious as to why you decided to change doctors. I'm in Huntsville and also have the fear of surgery. Unfortunately I think I may be pregnant again. My bf and I had hoped to have the opportunity for a reduction before having another kid. I have always been large breasted too and grew quite a bit during my first pregnancy. Not sure if I can cope if they get any bigger
March 19, 2018
@cherie19 I changed because Birmingham is 2 hours from me & Rome Ga is 30 minutes. I live in Centre Al about 20 min from ft Payne! so I know where Huntsville is! good to know you! Also Rome would be easier with my post op appt and also this dr has wonderful reviews & I will doing surgery at the hospital I had my daughter at so I feel comfortable there. So crazy because o had a pregnancy scare this month to! thankfully I started today! I'm going Wednesday to get the IUD Mirana put in. I have a 4 year old and 6 month so we don't need anymore!
March 19, 2018
Oh neat. I have a friend who lives in Ft Payne and think I have been thru Centre but not sure. Pretty area. Anyway sounds like you may have avoided another pregnancy but not sure that I have this time. I have a son that is coming up on 2 yrs and my bf is wanting a kid of his own but I was hoping to wait until after pursuing a reduction. He is a boob guy but not sure how I can continue to cope if they grow even larger.

Wow I’m happy for oh and sad because I know how much you wanted that surgery right now. Are you on social media outside of this
March 19, 2018
@cherie19 I had to take a plan B this month because I was late putting my nuva ring in, I was praying to God I wasent because I really want to get this done. my body can't handle another pregnancy mentally or physically right now. when will you take a test for pregnancy?
March 19, 2018
Oh ok. I have never tried the ring but maybe I should. My period is two days late so that is not a good sign. Think I will get a ept tester tonight or tomorrow.
