I decided to wait about a year (3 months shy),...
I decided to wait about a year (3 months shy), post surgery so that I could write an accurate review of my outcome as well as comment on my experience with Dr. Broadway, in Lone Tree. However, after logging onto this site (to write my review), I couldn't help but notice a negative review about him that was written just a few days ago. I have to say, after reading it, and sharing it with several friends who have had (Breast) surgery with Dr. Broadway, we all agreed, there is no way she could be talking about the "same" doctor. So, this changes the tune of my review and I hope others read this during their "best" surgeon search.
I was looking at getting a revision from a previous liposuction, and then a touch up that left my abdomen very lumpy and “stripy” and very abnormal looking (over the course of two years). I consulted with numerous plastic surgeons to fix this problem (never asked for a refund from my original surgeon, as it wasn't his fault that I healed poorly), with Dr. Broadway being the last one I met with. From the moment he walked in the room to greet me, I felt very comfortable with him. This might sound cliché, but he had a wonderful bedside manner. He couldn’t have been any more genuine and professional, yet down to earth. He explained that I had a lot of scar tissue, and gave me 3 options: 1.) Remove (breaking up) the scar tissue giving me a much better result 2.) A Tummy Tuck, giving the best result (unfortunately with a hip to hip scar) 3.) Do nothing. He took the time to listen and never once talked over me, addressing all of my concerns. He wanted me to “think about it," so I could make the right decision. Of course, the fantastic reviews, copious magazine articles and credentials, were great; but meeting with him in person sealed the deal for me. As soon as I walked out of his office I couldn’t wait to schedule my tummy tuck.
About two to three weeks post surgery, I noticed a waterbed feeling every time I walked or touched my abdomen. I was concerned (and felt a little uncomfortable), so I called the office. They got me in right away. Dr. Broadway did an ultrasound, and explained that I had a seroma ( common fluid build up) in my abdomen. He extracted the fluid with a needle, and wanted to see me the following day (to stay on top of it), and it had come back. He told me that he wanted to see me every two days until the fluid was gone, no matter how long I’d take to eventually be small enough to where it would evaporate. So, like clockwork, I went in every two days and he would remove the fluid (not his medical assistant - Dr. Broadway removed it every time). After a few weeks, getting drained less and less, eventually everything cleared up. The point being, is that he never made me feel as though I was a burden, or brushed it off as if was no big deal; in fact, It was quite the opposite. I felt as though I was his only patient during this entire ordeal. So, I find it very hard to believe (and I’m speaking for friends that have used him) that Dr. Broadway would not go above and beyond to help someone achieve the BEST result possible, just as he did for me...and my result turned out FABULOUS! I couldn't be happier with my new tummy.
Please do not let one review sway your decision. If you're thinking having plastic surgery, whether in or out of state, you owe it to yourself to meet with Dr. Broadway.
