Botched by Robert Miles @ Bodze

I met with Robert Miles twice to discuss the process of the Lipo 360 and abdominal etching. I thought I explained my expectations clearly. At the time, I wasn’t considering a BBL, but he suggested transferring the fat to my butt or breasts. Since I’ve always been self-conscious about my butt, I decided to proceed.
He explained the process, and I also had a phone consultation about BBL safety, as I was worried about the risks. He assured me that they use an ultrasound for safety and that he’s been performing the procedure for 20 years with no issues.
The office process was disorganized. They ran my credit, and I signed the paperwork to schedule the surgery. However, I didn’t sign any disclosures, nor were the side effects, risks, or potential disfigurement explained. The day before surgery, they said a nurse would call me to answer any questions. I never got the call and had to reach out myself. The nurse eventually texted me a short list, and when I asked if she’d be calling, she finally did.

They charge $150 for a compression garment that I only used for two weeks and $50 for a useless BBL pillow that cut off circulation to my legs. The $150 garment had a hole in it, and despite their promise to mail a new one, it never arrived. You can get cheaper, better-quality garments on Amazon. What they didn’t explain was that you need to change compression garments every two to three weeks, adding another $300-$400 to the cost. I was left scrambling to find suitable options without any guidance.

On surgery day, they surprised me by asking if a “doctor” who was apparently there to learn how to perform BBLs could observe my surgery. I felt pressured to agree, worried that saying no would upset Miles and affect my results. Looking back at my botched outcome, I can’t help but wonder if I was used as a guinea pig.

That morning, I was rushed through signing disclosures on an iPad without enough time to read them. I didn’t receive copies until I requested them months later. Despite Robert Miles assuring me that he would be the only one operating on me, the disclaimers allowed anyone in the room to “touch me.” This unprofessional approach makes me wish I had refused.

After surgery, they hurried me out with minimal observation. Their preparation list was vague and didn’t adequately explain what to expect. For instance, they didn’t warn me about the excessive bleeding, which they downplay as “leaking.” I had to figure out on my own to use plastic sheets to protect my hotel bed.

I was told that questions about post-op care, foam pads, and garments would be answered by the massage therapist they require you to see. This added another cost to the bill—two massages with their employee. Since I live two hours away, I only did one and then found a local therapist to help me. The need for lymphatic drainage massages wasn’t explained upfront, costing me another $1,500-$2,000.

During my first post-op visit, I waited two hours because Robert Miles was late. When he finally saw me, I explained the severe constipation I was experiencing and that I had to take a stool softener. He casually replied, “Maybe you should take a stool softener,” completely disregarding the fact that I just told him I already did. It was obvious he wasn’t listening to me. I suffered for days before figuring out on my own that pain meds cause constipation. This was when I realized that nothing that I said during the pre-op for my expectations was heard.

His advice about foam pads was inconsistent. At first, he said not to use them. Later, when I started developing issues, he told me to wear them. From my research, reputable doctors advise wearing foam pads with compression garments for the first two to three months, and I believe his inconsistent guidance is why my stomach looks the way it does.

My abdominal etching is a joke—I just have weird indents instead of any defined abs. When I asked about the indentations on my abdomen from the etching, he said, “Women don’t have abs like men; that’s how it’s supposed to look.” As my results worsened and a hole under my belly button became more pronounced, he offered to fix it for free by separating fibers. A month later, nothing improved. Now he says he’ll need to do a fat transfer but claims it “should be minimal” in cost.

Follow-up appointments were mostly done via FaceTime due to the long, costly four-hour round trip. I now strongly advise against choosing a far-away doctor because when things go wrong, they use the distance as an excuse, requiring you to come in, which adds to the cost.

I expressed concern about the cellulite on my butt, which he brushed off by saying, “Well, women get cellulite,” despite initially claiming the procedure would help. When I reminded him of his promise to detach the fat to improve cellulite, he denied saying it. The results speak for themselves—my BBL is a complete disaster.

I also asked why my fat transfer didn’t work and how to fix my botched BBL. His only response was that it would cost more money and wouldn’t be free. He offered no solutions or guidance on repairs. Instead, he had the nerve to say, “Well, you look better than you did before!” My abdomen is disfigured, my butt is square with more cellulite than ever, and I have a second belly button-like hole. I absolutely do not look better than before.

Aside from the physical damage, I’ve suffered mental anguish, depression, and worse self-esteem than before. I’m now $12,000 in debt with no clear path to fixing this botched job. I regret every penny spent at Bodze in Tampa with Robert Miles. I hope sharing this will save others from being botched @ Bodze
