1 week review on Accutane (Claravis)

So, I started taking 40mg/day 4/14/17. I am now one week into treatment and my skin & lips are dry and sensitive. My face has begun to lightly peel and it stings when I wash it at night despite the fact that I use a gentle wash (Cetaphil). I've noticed my skin is super sensitive to the sun. As I drive home from work, the sun is hitting my left arm & ear and they start to burn. I feel my skin become hot as soon as the sun hits it.
I've also had pretty bad headaches for about 3-4 days. This might also be a result of the fact that I am currently congested with allergies:/
I am planning on buying a good moisturizer with SPF along with a oil-free sunscreen. Any recommendations?

Hello all, I have had acne since I was about 20...

Hello all,

I have had acne since I was about 20 years old. My face was filled with large cystic bumps all over my face. I've gone to a dermatologist before and NOTHING worked. I tried all kinds of oral pills without any luck for my "acne from hell" as my derm referred to it. So I had given up. Little by little, the large cystic bumps just went away on their own. But acne continued to invade my face. I still continued to get cystic bumps but not too big so I considered this a win. I did nothing for about 5-6 years.
Now at age 27, I recently decided that I would finally do something since I am now a mother and would love not to be so self-conscious about taking pictures with my son. I went for a consultation for Laser treatment on my horrible scars for the big cysts years ago (I have deep holes on my cheeks & forehead) . But soon found out that wont do much for my current acne breakouts.

SO I have decided to start my accutane journey to rid my face of acne for good(hopefully!) then I'll worry about my scars.
It has been a long journey. But I am anxious and hopeful for what's to come.
I had my blood withdrawn last month and today I had another pregnancy test (I needed two negative test a month apart).
So I have my appointment tomorrow to finally fill my prescription and start this long awaited journey.

I have started this somewhat "blog" so that I can in a way vent or keep track of my progress.

I am starting this Journey as optimistic as possible and will post before pictures if/when I summon up the courage.

Have a blessed day!
