Difficult to Find a Doctor As Good As George Yang

I've had several treatments over the course of 6+ years with Dr. Yang and am happy with the procedures and results.

My first treatment was subcision for acne scars and although the changes weren't extraordinary, I was satisfied with the small amounts of improvement. The only downside was that I was bruised for about 1.5 months (which is actually supposed to be better for the healing process). After the first ~3 weeks, the bruising was a faint yellow but still there. The key is to be realistic about your expectations and to take care of yourself during the healing process to get the best possible results. Although I was happy with the minor improvement, I went back after a while because there were a few particular scars that bothered me a lot.

My second treatment was Restylane filler for acne scars, and that did yield substantial and instant results. So substantial that I have continued to return to top up on the original treatment area and to treat other scar areas as well (I have many scars) with both Restylane and Juvederm, both temporary fillers. Unlike subcision, there was little to no downtime for the most part; I did experience some bruising after a few of the treatments that lasted about 2 weeks, although some of the treatments I walked away with no bruising at all. I think it depends on your body, and for me, it's been about a 50/50 chance, and I'm not sure if there's any recognizable pattern to it (I discontinue taking any kind of blood thinners / vitamins about a week prior to treatment).

Although I have a long way to go, I have been more than satisfied with Dr. Yang thus far. Aside from the treatments, he is very thoughtful and adapts his treatment modalities and techniques as he observes what has been effective and not effective with other patients. He is also constantly researching new methods to improve results, and I can tell he is really passionate about his work. There have been instances when I have been completely satisfied with a treatment, and he is disappointed he did not do better. I also appreciate that his treatments do not feel rushed. He is very careful and meticulous with his work.

At this time, I'm considering other treatments not offered by Dr. Yang to improve my skin, but I am also the type of person who needs to do thorough research before I go forward with anything (which is why I waited several years before going back for filler after subcision). I think in the meantime, I will continue to see Dr. Yang. He's a doctor I really trust.
