I have wanted to get implants since i was around 15 and mine never really came in. Most of the women in my family have been well endowed. Mom has HUGE breasts (two big, and could probably use a reduction) while my sister won the gene pool with natural D's - now DD's since shes had children. Little me stayed around a 34A/32B. I had my first consultation on Friday 22 January. Looking to have surgery next month. During my consultation based on photos I brought in and explanations/measurements/sizing etc. My PS Suggested I get 335cc Smooth Overs, he actually asked what size i chose based on sizers, and It was the 335cc - after referencing my measurements and the size charts of the implants he said i chose perfectly and they would fit my BWD wonderfully. I am 12cm BWD. This is the first time anyone has ever suggested Over the Muscle implants to me so I left feeling good.. but as the day and weekend has gone on I have felt more unsure about going over the muscle. Its also almost IMPOSSIBLE for me to find over the muscle pictures anywhere! The most I see is model photos of Heidi Klum or Victoria Beckham. I think that over the muscle will give me the perky look I'd like , but i desperately do not want to look like i just have balls sitting on my chest.
I am currently 5.1" / 100lbs with a 32A/B.
--------------------------

After doing more research on here and a forum, I was successful in finding some "overs" and am quite happy with their results!

I had my pre-op appointment on 3 February. I went in and filled out all the pre-op paperwork [[ PHEW ! So much to sign and review! ]]. Originally my PS suggested the Inspira SRF 335cc (full projection). After some more thought and looking at photos and reviews, I thought maybe going 340cc wouldn't be too much of a difference.. only 5cc's right? I brought this up and he looked through the size charts, but told me he would rather i get the 340SRX which is the "extra full" implant (otherwise known as UHP). He said this because the "full" at 345cc would compromise BWD but the Ultra full wouldn't, even based on such a minimal fill difference. I decided that it made sense after another fitting and discussion. I don't want to look like i have soccer balls sitting on my chest, but i also prefer a rounder look than the natural slope. I still have that fear that i will look TOO Round. I am trying to meet other people who have a similar situation or have UHPs to lessen the worry. Funny how you walk out of the office feeling like "Yes! this is great!" and then when you get home you second guess some of your choices! Anyways, my surgery is a week away! wish me luck!

Did you went on the 3D vectra yet? You'll get to see how the difference choose different type of implant and difference between above or under muscle.

So! How was it ?!! Would you please show us pictures ? My BA is on April 11th !

Do you know what makes a person a good candidate for overs? I always had a nice full B before having kids, but since them, I've lost some volume. I have enough tissue to cover, so I'm curious why a doc would suggest it to some and not others. Thanks.

It depends what shape of Breast you are asking for, above muscles will give your breast more volum, under muscles gives more natural look, but really depends if you have a pretty looking breast or not.

I'm not a doc, so honestly I cannot say what things they consider :( . I knew it was the right choice for me because I work out a lot and didn't want to cut through my pectorals or have distortion when working out. If I had to guess it has to do with how tight your chest muscles are, how much you have, how much breast tissue someone has, and the "look" the patient wants. I wanted a round look, not totally fake looking, but i wasn't looking for natural either.

Thanks ladies...this is helpful bc I too work out a lot and the idea of cutting my muscle doesn't sound appealing. I just want volume to fill out what ice lost since kids. I hope this is an option for me too, your results look perfect and exactly what I want. We have similar frames so that's a size I want too.

Piggy backing on my last email, I meant to ask if you'd be open to sharing more pics. As I too have struggled to find pics of women with "overs". It would be greatly appreciated :)

Today was the Day!

Today was the big day! I woke up about 0645 to take one last shower and to use the betadine soap as instructed. We arrived at the hospital at 0820, just a little early. Lex, the nurse took me back to one of the consultation rooms where I had to answer just a few more post op questions to make sure nothing had changed and to let me ask any last minute questions i might have. She then left the room so i could put on my open front gown, socks, and a awesome blue hair net. You left your undies on - so you are not completely nekked. Dr. Peterson came in next to do all the marks and take final "before" pictures. He sat down with me and confirmed everything about the procedure, size, shape, placement, incision. He also asked if i had a preference of music because they use Pandora radio over all the speakers in the office and patients get to choose.. I simply said "Happy Music"

Anesthesiologist came to see me in next, asked me many of the same questions Lex did (last time i ate or drank, food or drug allergies, etc). He was awesome, he pretty much said mostly people are nervous about surgery and thats why the first thing they give you is a sedative. So his regimen was sedative, anti nauseous, then anesthesia meds and most patients are out of it in about 5 minutes. After this, it was time. They made me use the rest room one more time, although i hadn’t had water in the last 9 hours so I didn’t have to go. The nurses brought me into the operating room where i got to lay on this blue covered bed that was actually heated. I had to lay flat with my arms straight out just like a crucifix. Anesthesia Doc came in and got started. I only remember telling them where I lived, that the cold in my arm felt cool this time around (last time i had these meds was for my wisdom teeth removal and i passed out from the odd cold coursing through me, like passed out before anesthesia cause i was queasy) I said a few more things.. and that was that .. I was out! I "came to" thinking it hadn't even started yet, but we were all done. Lex let me lay down for a while then helped me get dressed into my clothes and had already scheduled my post op check up for tomorrow at 1000. I got a little reimbursement from the anesthesia, about $40 -- You had to put down $500, and you got a reimbursement at the end for what ever reason. The only thing i didn’t get was a receipt for that particular part. I'll ask about that tomorrow; I was way to drugged to remember anything that was said to me as they took me out. That's the other thing, they wheel you to the car in a wheel chair, and good thing for that too, I was super wobbly!

The post surgical bra they put me in is actually a pull over, not a front clasping kind. I was beyond groggy for the ride home and the stop for fast food lunch. I'm now starting to feel clear headed, but the pain? It's non existent right now [[AMAZING!]]. the most i feel is a tiny bit tight in the chest, like I’ve been wearing a sports bra for more than just a gym trip, nothing bad at all. I've heard the day after operation is the worst so I'm saving my meds for as late as i possibly can.

Day 1 Post op

So yesterday my pain was literally at a 0. I felt fantastic! Went to bed around 0200 - couldn't really sleep. I have to sleep at a 45 degree angle and im a side sleeper so i kinda hated it. Got up at 0600 when the cat wanted to be fed, and couldn't get back to sleep. So at that point i had what the internet likes to call: "Morning Boob" -- It's the slang people use for the tightness and ache after first getting them done and waking up the first time. But mostly i'm Achey - not in pain, feels like i hit the gym and did all Chest workouts or something - pressure and ache. So i took my second Hydro this morning at 6 to keep ahead of the pain. I had my Post Op appointment at 1000. I had time to get up and sit upright a the computer for a while just drinking some coffee. I felt like I just needed to sit up for a while to slowly let the twins settle from laying. So I get the hospital and the nurses take me back. I forget the nurse's name I had but shes the surgical aid, she took my bra off and took the gauze and tape off and cleaned me all up with bentadine. She said i was healing nicely and there was apparently only a tiny bit of blood on the gauze from one side and that was all! She said that my skin isnt overstreched or anything. She took some photos of me in a sitting position and then called for Dr. P. He came in and checked on me and gave me the all clear for a shower. He just said not to let the incisions get directly hit with the pressure of the water but getting them wet was fine. Double check that they are nice and dry before re-dressing them in fresh gauze. So hes talking me through these instructions and when to change the dressing and all of a sudden I'm like.. "Doc, I need to lay back, I'm getting tunnel vision". I'm great with pain and pain management, but i guess after the nurse cleaned my wounds it started to sink in that i had cuts under my boobs (even though i didn't watch and i couldn't see). But I am the biggest wuss when it comes to blood or cuts.. the pain i can take, seeing blood or knowing im all sewed up ? yea thats what got me. They laid me back and I didn't end up passing out or anything . Just a dizzy spell and tunnel vision. Doctor P's bedside manner was great, he kind put his hand on my knee and told me everything was okay and to look out the window and just talked to me about random stuff until I was back to normal. I got home around 1130 and had my first meal of the day, just some cereal and took some meds around 1200. Took my first shower around 1300 and that was interesting for sure. Had to wash my hair with my head tucked down and hands as low as i could keep them. No lifting my arms up and over my head or anything. Washing was strange because all of a sudden i had these boobs in my way LOL! But i did feel stellar after I got out. Re-dressed my incisions and put on my Tan Surgical bra that i had ordered myself ( OH! That was the other thing, i brought in my self purchased post surgical bra and the VS Front Zip sports bra for Doctor P. to look at and make sure they were okay to wear. He said the Other post surgical bra was just fine, and that it was less about compression and more about my comfort and to prevent them from bouncing around during healing - but he did tell me to wait at least two weeks to wear the VS one since it has a underwire). So after my shower i went with the Morena Surgical bra because it closes in the front and was easy to put on. Surprisingly i think I like the black one they sent me home in.. It just makes me feel all held in a bit more. But I've been wearing the front close all day. Ran some errands this, had some stuff to drop off at the post office, and needed to stop by the store for a few things. Got home around 1600. (Dont worry; Hubbs did all the driving and carrying of things) .I had a snack around 5 and popped one more pain med cause it had been 5 hours and the ache was setting in.. By 6pm I was drowsy. I let myself lay almost flat on the couch... and let me tell you I had the best two hour nap imaginable! i slept better those two hours than I did last night laying at the proper 45 degree angle. Now im not SUPPOSED to lay flat, but I did and it was only a little nap so I'm sure its fine as long as its not often and gosh did i need that sleep! I feel so much better. Though i did wake up achey again - i have to emphasize that it is just that - Just sore, just a little ache, NOT pain. I'm quite astonished at the healing for this. I was expecting so much worse !

I think the only thing I forgot to write about yesterday was they actually had a Chinese Doctor there to observe (with my permission) surgery's that my Doctor was performing this week. The Doctor Said i could say no and it was up to me on whether or not he could observe the surgery and even asked if i wanted to meet him before hand. I told him Im all for Science and advancements so sure! As long as he came in after i was "out" and gone by the time i woke up - i wouldn't care who came in the room as long as only Doctor P and my anesthesiologist were the only people to touch me.

Any before and after picture to show us? I agreed on sleeping at a 45degree angle helps to ease the pain. I felt so stretched, and plenty of muscles pain on my Brest and armpit, can't even lift my arms up after surgery. Today is my 2nd day, muscle pain has reduced, now begin to feel the pain in the incision under my boobies. Keep us posted!
