Gynecomastia surgery - incredibly disheartened and disappointed

Gynecomastia Surgery (Gland Removal + Liposuction) - My Experience

Gynecomastia101
I had Gynecomastia surgery performed by Dr. Mark McRae on September 28th, 2023.

I am currently just about 10 months post-op and I feel a review is now fair as I’ve given my chest adequate time to heal.

I had gland removal and liposuction performed to better contour my chest.

I will say that the process before surgery was swift and smooth, and I was booked in for surgery in no time. The nurses were also very nice, too.

Although, in regard to the surgical results and outcome, in my opinion, I am incredibly disheartened and disappointed.

Unfortunately, I now have large indentations and deformities, in addition to what I believe is residual gland on my right side. I also have a horizontal line running across my left pec. Overall, in my opinion, I’m not pleased with the contouring and how irregular and asymmetrical my chest is now.

I am currently saving money for an expensive revision surgery which will run me north of $20,000 CAD.

Please see attached pictures of my chest.

In short, in my opinion, I would not recommend Dr. Mark McRae.

My disturbing experience - life altering defects and deformities

Gynecomastia101
To expand on my review, I would like to state that in my opinion Dr. Mark McRae ruined my chest. I believe my results are unsightly and unnatural.

My deformities and indentations are life altering. This consequently affects my confidence and overall well-being.

In my opinion, there was a lack of contouring and sculpting performed. The sides of my chest were left untouched, even though I paid for liposuction. After the surgery, I was left with protruding fat from the sides of my chest.

In my opinion, Dr. McRae removed the glandular tissue, but subsequently created another problem for me that is far more difficult to correct with surgery and poses a serious challenge for any future surgeon.

My revision surgery will entail fat grafting, additional gland removal, and contouring to effectively improve the appearance of my chest.

Several surgeons have stated that I might need more than one revision to fix my chest. This is not something I had expected nor anticipated.

I am now suffering psychologically and have experienced and endured unnecessary harm from a routine, straightforward procedure. I am still to this day experiencing an unwavering amount of stress and unease.

My experience was quite disturbing and I wouldn’t wish my experience on anyone.
