Dr. Brian Goertz and his wonderful team performed hairline and crown transplant/restoration procedures which led to more than expected and highly favorable results. Thank you doc and team! I met Dr. Goertz at a consult sometime long before the procedure at our initial consult... I think a bit more than a year prior to the procedure, where he gave me a great outline of hair issues, growth patterns, various approaches, specifics about my case, and he also started by introducing me to finasteride so we could see its effectiveness for the first year. It ended up helping restore some crown density... worthwhile I still use it to keep the crown area happy. :) Eventually I decided to go for hairline and crown transplants at the start of 2016 to restore density and shape to both areas. All along the way, he and his staff were absolutely amazing. I felt comfortable and fully informed at each step along the way. I have to say, out of all procedures I've had in my life, hair transplant surgery is one of the more involved. It is a day you should really make sure you prepare for and follow your surgeon's instructions. It was a long day which went by relatively quickly considering the many hours of detailed work required. Recovery is part of what I'm talking about... you must really care for the transplants until a week or more until they firmly take. Dr. Goertz's team really accentuated the importance at each step of being prepared and knowing how to handle post-OP care daily. With all of their info and expertise and compassion I was able to get through an all day involved procedure with relative comfort and in the weeks afterwards, day by day, follow detailed care instructions very carefully and all that. The point of this verbiage in this paragraph is the following: Don't take transplant procedures lightly... it's a serious outpatient surgery even though it doesn't appear that way in the surface. I would say local outpatient surgeries in general can be more taxing to a patient who is awake and must be more consciously present than when in a procedure under sedation. Hair transplants raises that "local" procedure bar for it is many hours sitting up in a chair and all that. I'm saying this because I feel I was very lucky to go to a talented doctor where he and his staff guided this process to make it relatively speaking very comfortable. I'm in disbelief when I think on hindsight of what they needed to do all day, from the doctor's preparation with anesthesia in the cranial/scalp area, to the busy skilled staff working all day on transplants for an amazing result. I cannot stress it enough... I had an overly simplistic perspective beforehand and learned through this experience that I had lucked out by going to this doctor, where there was great talent with doctor and staff with everything including the handling of the logistics all day during the procedure. If you go get transplants, you will know what I mean by how important it is to be around talent, compassion and comfort. Oh, despite how involved transplant surgery can be, Dr. Goertz's office is fully loaded for patient comfort... they have a big TV you can watch throughout the day, with a full library of movies on DVD, Internet access, music, etc. They also had food and all that. They really make it as comfortable as possible. Thanks doc and staff! I find it notable that he has staff that has been with him for more than a decade... it's great... really showed... they treated me wonderfully. Thanks thanks thanks again doc and staff! I really appreciate your great service, talent, and wonderful result you gave me.
