Investing in Myself
$23,000
Several years ago I began devloping jowls and a turkey neck. I finally decided that I was going to invest in myself and get a facelift so that my outside matched how I feel on the inside. After interviewing several surgeons, I decided on Dr. Lyos because of is impressive before and after gallery. Today I am 8 days post-op and am still very swollen and somewhat tender.

Snapped these pic without even brushing my hair. Still swollen but getting better. Still have a lot of stitches in my head, most of which should be coming out tomorrow. Going back to work in a few days, which will be interesting. My neck is still quite stiff and tight.

Congratulations! You look great! I’m at about 12 weeks since my surgery. I’m a bit older than you so my recovery was a little slower but that’s fine. I’m in the Houston area as well but used a different doctor. So glad we both took the plunge and did it!

Trying to Upload Pics here!
Warning! You could be trading in one set of problems for another! It’s been over a year since my facelift surgery and I have an unfortunate update. While my facelift results are satisfactory, unfortunately (as you can see in my 5 month follow up pics) my ears now protrude giving me an elf-like appearance. I talked to Dr. Lyos at my follow-ups about this issue, but he assured me that once the swelling subsided, my ears would go back to normal. Sadly, it’s now been 15 months since my surgery and my ears still protrude. Last week I went in to see if Dr. Lyos would take care of this, however I was told that it would cost me another $4,800. After I expressed that I couldn’t afford that amount, Loan (Dr. Lyos’s assistant) came back with a new quote of $2,800 ($1000 for anesthesia and $1800 for Dr. Lyos’s surgical facility). As I’d already paid $25,000 for my facelift surgery, paying an additional $2800 was not in the cards for me. I told Loan that I could possibly swing the $1000 for anesthesia but not the $1800 for Dr. Lyos’s surgical facility however I was told that $2800 was the lowest Dr. Lyos would go. I’m a school teacher and had saved for years to be able to go to a good plastic surgeon to have my facelift surgery. Sadly, I only traded one set of cosmetic issues (saggy jowls) for a new set of issues (protruding ears). In addition to the protruding ears, I also have areas where sutures didn’t dissolve and where scar tissue formed. In order to address these issues, painful Kenalog injections and laser treatments are required. Needless to say, 15 month post-op, I’m disappointed with my overall appearance and wish I’d have saved myself the pain and suffering from the surgery as well as the $25K it cost me.

Pixie ears are a very common side effect of face lifts- lots of celebrities have them. It is extremely common to have to go back to a surgeon to get them fixed - so you are not alone. I think this is something that should have been discussed prior to your surgery with your surgeon so that you would understand the costs of fixing the ears.

I think she looks great too!
My neck has reverted once again after a second neck lift.
She has such a sweet face and complexion . I’m sorry to hear you are not happy with your results

Sorry you are going through this. I think you look young and adorable Yes your ears stick out but your still pretty. Maybe you can save to have them fixed. The doctor should pin them back for free. Sigh.

You're still fairly attractive. Don't knock yourself. Your ears look fine. I have seen many people with your type of ears, and never think there is anything at all that is wrong
