The gobble neck remains and facelift started to fall by 12 months

Worse Experience

Interviewed three different surgeons. Chose Dr. Chiu as his profile showed two board certifications. Asked all three surgeons for a neck lift and all three said needed a lower facelift as well. Their reasoning made sense, somewhat, although it was the turkey neck that I found so distressing. So went with Dr. Chiu, as in consultations he agreed to do both. I did NOT receive the neck lift. Only whatever skin on neck that got pulled back with a lower facelift. No incision under my chin nor into hairline in the back. When told him I was dissatisfied, he became whiny and very annoyed, saying what did I expect at 69? So if he thought I was too old to get the results I expected and it wasn’t possible, he should not have taken my money and performed the surgery. The gobble neck remains and lower facelift had started to fall by 12 months.

Thank you Manny. He also used Botox in my neck prior to the surgery. When asked why Botox before a neck lift, he responded that was ‘his technique’. Looking back, I don't think he had any intention of doing a full neck-lift, aside from whatever lift of the neck you get from a lower face-lift. I researched the level of neck lift would need for quite a few years, so was aware there should be stitch under my chin as well as stiches into my hair line to properly contour the neck. That's the most effective technique for an older neck; especially for people in their 60's or 70's. Took money from a retirement account to help pay for the surgery. Am reminded of this major disappointment every time I look in the mirror. Ty again Manny.

Don't stop til he makes it right. If he reuses then turn to social media. Let the world know how he took your money and left you unsatisfied. He thinks he's won. Time to show him your coming for him and your money

Trying to add more before and after pictures but not working. Contacted RealSelf to see why my photos won't post. Why do some surgeons act as if they are so special and you're not to question their work? I would never go back to him. He arrogantly told my husband and I at pre-consultation that he 'never redid a surgery'. That is so arrogant.

This sounds like a scam actually to me. Disgusting. Sorry you had to experience this.

Went for couple consults for peels and/or fillers since surgery. Both appointments, doctors looks at my neck; said didn't appear to have had chin liposuction (no stitches under chin) nor the actual neck lift.

I'd advise anyone looking to have plastic surgery to really look at the photos of work performed. They are 'ok', not incredible results. I falsely 'assumed' a facial PS was way to go but not necessarily so.

Another thing: he ask me to come in few weeks before surgery to use botox on my neck bands. THAT should have been the give away. Why botox when I'm going to be having a necklift? Wouldn't you want the neck bands flexible if your going to be lifting the neck? So he was trying to make me look as if I had a necklift using botox. He advised me to redo the botox a few months after surgery. That pretty much says it all.

BTW, had to go to office a few days after surgery as there was a large lump on right cheek. Could see it under bandages. He pushed along my cheekbones to get bloody fluid out but it left a divot. He proudly told me before surgery that he didn't need to use drains on his patients.

Also, he wraps your face with gauze. HE DOES NOT PROVIDE A CHIN STRAP. He gives you one extra length of gauze to use at home. No extras. No arnica, no skin care items, no cie packs. Very cheap.

At recent consults, was told not to use filler in the divot as not sure what's under the skin. It's the size of a quarter. Am always aware of lighting and how it looks to others. Ty again for your comment. Hope my review to help others make the right choice.
