2 Normal Ears

On June 23, 2021, I got my feet tangled up in some boards. I fell and hit my ear on the deck of my mower. I thought I had broken my glasses and tried to remove the broken ear piece on my left ear. I had almost cut my left ear off. The top half was dangling and bleeding. Blanchard Valley Hospital contacted Dr. McGinniss because the ear was more than they were comfortable fixing. Dr. McGinniss came to Bluffton ER after he finished his regular appointments. I was fine with that...I was secure being in the ER. He walked in...smiled..said he could fix me up. No operating rooms were available. He mended my ear in the ER Room. My ear looked 100% better when he was done...back to only one piece ..not dangling. He saw me in the office 9 days later...we were both very happy with the look of my ear. Today, July 28, follow up...entire ear healed. It is a little sore on the under side of the top. Dr. McGinniss thought possibly a little scar tissue pulling. My thoughts, that's where the cartilage went back together...it will take a little longer. Either way...my left ear, with the exception of a small scar...MATCHES MY RIGHT EAR. It still lays flat against my head....looking normal!! I am so VERY THRILLED!!

Last check in with Dr. McGinnis...only 4 weeks. Ear is looking so good. A little tender on the underside. Everyday it is healing more. I have been able to lay on it at bedtime for a whole week. Sooo very pleased!!
