I am less than 10 days out and I have started to have a lot of fears and doubts. I think this surgery is the right choice for me, but after reading stories of healing issues and finding out that sometimes the breasts do return post surgery I am more concerned than I was.

I have been approved by insurance and am planning on going down to a c. I don't ever remember my breasts being smaller than a D so it is definitely hard to imagine this change.

I have loved reading the reviews on this site. I hope that my journey and help inspire others. I am definitely ready to be rid of the back pain, under Breast rushing and the deep grooves on my shoulders.

This will be quite a change but I think I am ready for it.

I do have a doctor and he is very nice- I am going to hold off reviewing him until post surgery. My initial consultation was great though, I learned a ton and loved that he answered my list of questions and got my approval in no time flat.

Do you have kids? If you do the procedure prior to having children you may want another br

I do not have children. I am leaning towards going with the C and that way if I do maintain my increased size post breastfeeding I will not be up to the size I am at now. I am hoping that I will only have to have one reduction!

Hi there! I wanted to just reach out and say I am 5 days post op and I am so happy I had the procedure I was SO SO SO off the wall excited when I first decided to do the procedure, but then when I got closer to the surgery about 2 weeks before and it felt like there was no turning back, I started to get very nervous in the way you are describing. This is why I felt compelled to respond to you because I understand the mix of doubt and fear that can come up even if you feel it is the right thing to do. I did everything I could to prepare myself and remind myself that having nerves were a normal response to going into surgery, but not anything more than that and that everything would go well. I am happy to share with you that I woke up feeling like I was coming out of a nice restful nap, was so surprised and grateful. So far I am healing really well and relatively painlessly, managed by meds of course but after 3 days I switched to only tylenol. I would recommend since you asked below having some already prepared healthy foods you can just grab when you are hungry and getting yourself off the hook from everything other than healing for at least a week. I am also really finding the need to stay stimulated by visits from friends and family. I am also young and haven't had children yet and this is one of the best things I have ever done for myself, I am so happy I didn't wait as I was initially planning to. I hope everything goes very well for you, lots of warm wishes from los angeles!!

Thank you so much for your amazing message! You have no idea how relieving it is to know that someone else has had the same thought process I have had and that you are happy with your results. I am definitely nervous still but you have eased my nerves quite a bit.

Awesome decision. I just did my breast reduction and my tummy tuck 10 days ago and so far so good. No signs of infection, a very thin low scar and even though I'm still swollen I can tell that my breast size is a perfect C just like I wished for. :) Good Luck and keep us posted on your recovery. :)

Less than a week to go....

With less than a week to go I am starting to have serious concerns about my surgery. All still relating to being unsure about what I will look like. Its crazy to think that this time next week I will be lounging around with my perky little boobs. I am excited to not have to deal with the pain, and all of the other side effects of my chest being as large as it is.

This site has been truly inspiring and helpful in helping me decide to make this change.

That being said- I want to know what did you find that you wanted/needed in recovery?

I want to use this weekend to stock up and since my pre op is only the day prior to the surgery (due to an extensive travel schedule)I want to make sure I have everything I need!

I am 6 days post-op and my biggest recommendation is to buy stool softener before your surgery and begin to take it the first day post-op. The most painful part of the surgery was the constipation!! Drink plenty of water and try to stay away from foods that back you up(dairy, processed foods). I wish I started the stool softeners immediately instead of 2 days post-op, I think it would have really helped! Best of luck, you will be so happy once it's over with!!

Thank you for that recommendation! It is on my list to pick up! I appreciate it!

I have been concerned with posting photos on the Internet but I decided to to show some perspective on where I am at now- versus where I will be in 4 short days. I am nervous and excited and trying hard to imagine what I will look like with my new body.

Congratulations! Remember it will take a while to know what you will look like exactly. Don't be discouraged by bruising or the shape; it takes a while for them to settle. Best of luck to you!

Thank you! I am very concerned about the end result- I just hope they settle well!
