I'm thrilled to have found this site. I will be happy to blog my way through it. I'm excited about my upcoming surgery, but very apprehensive. The pain is what is worrying me the most right now. I'm going to have a drip med pump for 5 days and already picked up my 'drugs' including Norco and Flexeril. I am not spending the night at the surgery center, but instead they send a nurse to transport me home and stay with me for the first 24hours. I have a hospital bed arriving on Wednesday. I know that I will be wearing a binder for a while and I saw on line a 'tummy tuck' girdle. Anyone think that may be a good idea to purchase? What I am wondering is how long before I am standing upright? How long before the swelling minimizes and ultimately is gone: I have a lap band and I'm assured that Dr. will suture it that the port will not be visible beneath my skinny tummy skin....I'll post photos now that I've found this site appreciate your support during this incredible journey. BTW, I'm 58 years old, 5' 7" and weigh 179. I have lost 73 lbs and cannot seem to lose any more weight - The surgery was 10 years ago and I've been at this weight for most of that time, losing the majority of the weight within the first 18 months or so. Can't really remember! Any words of encouragement or info are appreciated ~

3 weeks out

I can't believe how three weeks of your like goes so quickly, but I'm doing well and finally feel like I've turned a few corners. Going to 3 week post op tomorrow and I'm pleased with my results. Not a lot of appetite so finally went on scale to see a 10lb weight loss ..5 lbs was from what was removed with tt and flank Lipo. Pain was never too bad but taking a little muscle relaxant and Tylenol at bedtime only. Numbness at tummy and especially belly button feels weird and freaks me out. I don't want to give up my binding tomorrow as my tummy feels so secure with it. I guess I'll wear spanks. I've tried to post pics. Unsuccessfully :'( Thanks for feedback. This site is so helpful and encouraging.

Wonderful.....I think if your binder feels comforting why not wear it...I was advised to keep on 24/7 for 3/4 weeks..then wear at night for 2/3 weeks...and anytime I was going to be more active.. I can't be without it at the moment ...I tried a couple of hours whilst in bed but swelling seemed to get worse.. I suppose its all trial and error...:-)

You look great! I plan to go to him for a tt revision hopefully in March! I'm excited but not looking forward to the recovery. How has that been for you and when did you stand straight?
January 21, 2015
Recovery wasn't easy but i took it day by đay. But measured my progress week by week as some days were better than others. I rented the hospital bed and that made it easier. Just set it up in my family room. The drains weren't too bad but Effective as i had no bruising. Took me about 10 days on a walker and another week hunching but at week 3 we went up to Tahoe and i recouped up there just by resting and for the first time was in a regular bed. Needed pillows under my knees and several behind my head. ...4 weeks i was upright but glad i didn't return to work for a couple more weeks cuz i was tired!!

Wow so he really tightens the abs!! Geesh I month before you stood up straight? At least I know he will do it right lol. How much did your hospital bed add up too? Also dud he lipo your abs too? Is your tummy super flat and can you add updated photos ? I'm not really worried about the scar because I plan to get a tattoo . Omg I'm excited! Thank you for responding and I'm glad your doing well. So in all it was a six weeks before you could stand straight? That's the scary part for me lol

4 weeks till i was totally upright but at 3 weeks i would say it was hardly noticeable . Just soffit bent. No, didn't lipostomach but I'm sure he removes fat as between the skin and everything else he removed the dented up to 5 pounds. I did not have any appetite and unfortunately it's returned but I've lost about 16 pounds so far. I have 10 more I want to lose. My stomach is perfect flat but I must beef up the exercise as now I'm feeling better to do so. I'm still heavy I feel because of my legs and other problem areas but my stomach is beautiful! The bed cost $200 for one month and it's the best money I could have spent. I totally recommend it. the reason I didn't return to work was it because I couldn't stand but because I was tired and I had the time so I figured why not. It was right around the holidays so I just enjoyed staying indoors and resting and just walking around my property.

hope you can figure out some of what I was saying because my autocorrect wouldn't let me go back and correct! Anyway I know that you are in good hands and the tummy is tight the surgery was awesome and I just wish you would have done it sooner. It's amazing and I can't get over it. I still look in the mirror expecting to see my 'before' and continue to see the 'after' and I'm so happy! my scar looks good. Dr did a very fine line and although it's red I keep putting cream on to keep it soft and it looks good to me.When are you having your surgery done?

January 21, 2015
I scheduled the surgery for the end of February if all goes as planned. I have my preop mid February, so I'm praying everything will go well. Do you have a pouch or anything when you sit down or is it flat?

January 21, 2015
Yes, the bed is included in my fees which is fine. That's great to keep the bed for a whole month! I guess I will sleep downstairs in the living room area! I need to lose around16-20 pounds so if the tt can get those pounds off I will be happy too and just workout. Im going to invest in a really nice elliptical and workout at least 45 a day to maintain my shape. The stomach area is very important. I'm glad you are happy with you results, you look amazing! Well, post more pics when you get a chance!

I'm jealous. I still look like a swollen Frankenstein belly. You have a sexy, model belly! Fantastic results!

I will be 8 weeks on Monday! I have a HARD flat stomach with a cut out BB. Not an indented one like you. Your belly looks so soft and natural. And that beautiful indented part in the middle...sigh...still jealous.....hahahaha. But I'm still happy with mine...at least i didn't get infected!!! I look GREAT in clothes! Not so much naked! hahaha But i didn't want ANYONE to see me naked before sx...so i guess this is a big step UP!

Things will keep evolving and changing week by week. my stomach looks flatter. What do you mean about your bb? My goal was to look better in clothes and I do. I'm happy, but one thing leads to another and I would love to do my breasts and legs!! Going to Hawaii next month and will wear a 2 piece swimsuit but I wish my legs were firmer. Losing weight caused a lot of sagging. But overall I'm happy and so glad I did the tt. My husband still is blown away each day and Comments. He's very sweet. Take care.

My BB is the ugly cut out circle...with a slit in the middle. I think that was the old way of doing BB's. My surgeon has been doing this for 35 years....but at least it didn't get weepy or infected! The newer BB's are pulled deep inside...with stitching done on the inside. Much more natural looking belly buttons! My skin is softening up on my belly...still tight and numb below BB...but that is to be expected! Now i have burning sensations on my right side by scar....figure it's probably nerve endings trying to repair....or something....oh well....time marches on...

Yes, you look great! I love his work, I cant wait!

I'm so thrilled with my results. Sure you will be too. It's amazing!! Have you had work done by this doctor?

January 21, 2015
No I went to Florida in July 2013 to Dr.salama. He is mainly a "butt" doctor. However, I had a bbl which is more fat added to your butt and I had what I thought was a "full tt" as that was most important to me than the bbl! So anyway I thought if was great besides the fact there was too much skin, I thought it was too soon to judge results. I went to Dr. Moulton for a second opinion and he informed me that the ps never tightened my upper abs which is the point of the tt... I have three kids so now I have that buldge at the top and flat at the bottom with too much skin!!! It still hangs if I bend over!! It's like the doctors just can't get it right. So I'm praying that he can deliver because I can't afford to get anymore surgery. Oh I need another full tt!!! Wish I went here from the start!

Did he lipo your abs? Also did you walked hunched over at all? You look like your standing straight for five weeks that's great! I'm going to him also that's why I'm asking lol thanks

Swelling is different with everyone so it's hard to say how long it will last. Â But if you stress about it that won't help you at all. Â Stay calm and keep the happy thoughts going.
