I had two surgeries performed by doctor Rex Mouton-Barrett. It was rhinoplasty and sliding genioplasty! Everything went really well and I am really happy and impressed by the results! Both surgeries went really smooth and recovery was not hard at all! I would highly recommend doctor Rex Moulton-Barret!
I love my new body and continue to see my results as time continues to pass and I continue to heal. Dr. Moulton-Barrett has made me feel sexy and comfortable in anything I wear again! I get so many compliments on how amazing my bellybutton looks too! His staff has been nothing but amazing in my experience.
I am extremely pleased with my results from a tummy tuck. I carried twin boys and it absolutely wrecked my stomach. I had a cesarean which didn't help with the appearance of my stomach either. I had rolls of excess skin and minimal fat. It was so severe that I used to get yeast infections on my bellybutton. In addition, I had a hernia in the upper portion of my stomach. I also bad muscle separation. Needless to say, I felt horrible and ugly. I worked out constantly and I ate well. I got down to my pre-pregnancy weight (119) but my stomach still looked horrible. Nothing was going to eliminate the damage done to my stomach other than surgery. I can't emphasis enough how grateful I am to Dr. Moulton-Barrett. My stomach now looks like it belongs to a 22 year old. His rates are the most affordable in the bay area. His approach to pain management is effective; he uses a pain pump, pain meds and encourages patients to rent a hospital bed for 1 month. My recovery process was far easier juxtaposed to friends who has the same surgery. His approach to aftercare is top notch. I highly recommend. I'll add pictures very soon. Updated on 11 Oct 2018: I wanted to let folks know that pain pumps are very effective after tummy tucks. I heard that only a quarter of doctors use them. I had minimal pain after the tummy tuck until the pump was removed. I encourage you to find a doctor who uses them.
I am happy with my lip implants. On the procedure day, the office hadn't ordered my bottom lip 4mm implant. Luckily they had an extra one in the back so the staff was disorganized. The doctor was very good about the symmetry. The bottom implant is still slipped to one side but he said I have long lips so it doesn't quite fit. It isn't noticeable from the outside. I had a 5mm implant put in my upper lip. Some doctors on real self don't recommend using this (the biggest) size but I have had no problem. I do recommend this doctor for lip implants. Updated on 22 Mar 2019: My sliding lower lip implant wasn't terribly noticeable. The first post op I had Dr. Moulton Barrett squeezed it back to the middle and said maybe he'll put a stitch in if it's still sliding at my next appointment. It was but he pushed it back again. No stitch. Top lip was fine. As time went on, the bottom implant has slid even more. The top is uneven if you feel it but it's not too noticeable. The lower implant kept creeping into the side of my mouth and caused my lip to be raised and I'd occasionally bite it. That scarred and then I was biting it often when I chewed. My dentist suggested he trim the scar. Now there is a pit and my smile is crooked. I'm mortified:( I have an appointment in a couple of weeks with the Dr. and hopefully will have more information for you guys. I have been avoiding talking or smile for several months. We'll see if he's the type of Dr. that stands behind his work or not. Updated on 10 Apr 2019: I went back to the doctor yesterday. He was very nice and also disappointed with the lip implant shifting. My lips are too long for even the longest implant. I would consider doing my bottom lip again if Surgisil comes out with more length choices. He did stand behind his work so I still recommend him if you want the lip implants. Updated on 10 Apr 2019: I feel I should disclose that I had a tentative date held to get a revision in a week by Dr. Rex Moulton Barrett depending how my appointment yesterday went. After I saw him yesterday I felt so assured that he also wanted my outcome and my health (eating is a problem with the scar) to be beautiful and we both were on the same page. Maybe the other times he had been busy and I felt dismissed? This was the first appointment in the afternoon and he really gave 100%. I left happy I held a revision date and this ordeal would be over. First thing this morning my phone rang. It was from a receptionist was extremely rude. I had said to the Dr. yesterday that my initial review on RS was great on the surgisil lip implants (never was the FaceTite remotely positive). We agreed the implants weren't made long enough and FaceTite is not the wonder procedure as promoted by the laser company. We were both hoping for better results from new products and by no error of his own it was worse than when I started. I assumed the staff keep up with RS! Apparently not and they looked up my review last night. Angel stated that the Dr. doesn't want to keep my surgery appointment (take out the lip implants that have horrifically wrong) until I "remove my post" on RealSelf. I updated it (as authentically as I planned to anyway) after her call. However, it was so awkward that I've cancelled my surgery.
I had a Tummy Tuck and breast augmentation with Dr Rex Moulton Barrett in march of 2016. I can not praise him enough from the first consultation to my results a year later. I was very diligent and did a lot of research on all the doctors I had consultations with. Dr Rex was my first consult and immediately I felt comfortable with him giving me great results. I'm so glad I went with my gut and used him. His after care has been amazing. I highly recommend him to anyone in the Bay Area looking for a mommy makeover. It has been one of the best decisions I've ever made.
I'm post op day 2. My best friend got her breast augmentation with Dr. Barrett and did an amazing job on her. I went in for a consult in November 2015 and fell in love with how professional he is. I went to a different plastic surgeon and he was extremely unprofessional and recommended I get a Brazilian butt lift in which I never mentioned a Brazilian butt lift. Dr Barrett never offered any procedure besides my breast augmentation. My breasts were 14.5 - 15 cm and I agreed with 650 cc moderate saline implants. Today day 2 I'm extremely uncomfortable. I am used to sleeping on my stomach and the doctor recommended to be sleep at a 30 degree angle. I'll keep you updated on how my post op appointment goes. Here are some photos attached.
I am avid athlete and always was active, working out daily for about an hour but I still wasn't getting the results I wanted. It started to impact my over-all self esteem and after several years of consideration, I decided to do the tummy tuck for myself. I am so happy that I did it, I'm still in recovery but with Dr. Moulton-Barrett's care, it's been absolutely flawless. I am very happy with my results so far and my main motivation was to keep myself fit and proud of my body and have a healthy body image (my career demands it to some degree). Updated on 5 Nov 2015: Dr. Barrett performed a full tummy tuck with muscle repair on me on October 8th. After consulting with more than five other surgeons in the Bay Area, after my consult with Dr. Mouton Barrett it was pretty clear I was working with a masterful and very aware surgeon. Getting the recommendation for a tummy tuck but the method of healing, what to expect was far reaching as it related to what was going to be realistically necessary in the AFTER CARE. All the other surgeons made it seem like the surgery itself would be no big deal, but the gravity and expectation of major surgery was top of mind for me and him. As result, I was able to meditate and brace myself for the positive change and it will take to get there. It was not painless, but I do believe with today's treatments and modalities available to surgeons, it was a lot painful specifically because of Dr. Mouton Barrett's talent and command of his hands, head and eye. Choosing a surgeon is tantamount to choosing a babysitter- don't skimp on the education and I must say real self's community helped me a thousand times over reading questions and answers from the community and doctors.
my father and I both had nose surgery to fix our breathing problems, especially when we sleep. We both snore like and ravenous T-Rex and then would stop breathing. The experience and benefits are amazing, incredible and absolutely a blessing. The attention to care and details are unsurpassed or rivaled. They truly set the standard for all other medical professionals to work to achieve.
professional staff and stellar service and follow ups. I truly can not say enough good things about the quality of service and the staff. Myself and my 16 year old son had corrective surgery and would not hesitate to refer Dr. Rex Edward Moulton-Barrett and his staff to anyone needing help. My wife is considering some personal services through this office because of the excellent care, support and follow up. Dr. Moulton-Barrett and staff set the standard for which others should strive to achieve. A+.
I experienced very caring, patient and professional people. At no time did I experience being rushed for appointments or when I had questions regarding my care..The personal concern that the doctor, nurses and staff give is far beyond what I have experienced in a long time from different establishments..I have recommended Doctor to family and friends..
Some of the scars are not so deep and in that case a Dermapen might provide some help. However ,many scars are quite deep, hence the term 'ice-pick' scars. These really need under-grfating with dermis from perhaps an old surgical scar you have or from a skin graft from behind the ear. One newer choice is Belafill, a collagen coated plastic particle which can be injected under the scar. This requires collagen skin testing in advance. Other choices and techniques I have used include punching old the deeper scars and placing circular punch skin grafts. After the deeper scars are corrected then a series of microlaser peels or a deeper resurfacing laser such as an Erbium YAG can provide dramatic improvement. The use of the laser is to 'flatten the mountains and bring up the valleys' but should not be used as a substitute for grafting when necessary. I hope this helps.
