Worth the Wait!

WORTH IT
I met Dr. Nathan after over a year into my research on the procedure and different surgeons. I had already seen 2 other surgeons and was still not completely sold and thought I should at least try one more. I am so glad I made the decision to wait because Dr. Nathan was the exact surgeon I was looking for! He described in full detail how he performs the surgery and was willing to answer any question I asked. He makes you feel comfortable and never forced and is very realistic from the beginning. I was able to get the insurance approval and surgery all within the same month! His staff (specifically Barbara) are very professional and helpful.

Looks amazing! How did you go about it in turns of getting the insurance to cover it? I'm looking to do the same and live in the area.

You have to let your surgeon know you’d like to go the insurance route so they take pics of your chest and request insurance approval. Make sure you note your back pain and any other pain your boobs cause. I know you need to take off a specific amount for insurance purposes so your surgeon will tell you if you’re a good fit.

Do you live in Florida? Did you have to get the surgery done in the same state as your insurance? I’m working on getting the same thing done but I live in illinois..don’t know if my insurance will let me get it done out of state...happy healing doll :) looks great! I bet a lot of your back pain is gone too huh!

Yes I do live in Florida. You’d have to check with your insurance if they cover out of state procedures since they’re all different. I never thought about doing it out of my state so I never checked on it. If it’s not possible, I recommend asking your insurance company for a list of “in network” surgeons and start your research on each one til you find one with good reviews and pictures. Thank you! My back pain is nonexistent haha

You look great! Did you have to have formal documentation of back pain/issues over a long period of time?

Thank you! Some general doctors want you to try therapy before giving you the referral for the surgery (required if going through insurance) but luckily mine could just see how big they were for my size and gave the referral instantly. I'd say if that happens to you, try the therapy and just let your doc know it didn't alleviate most of the pain and they will probably give you the referral since you tried it their way.

12 day’s post op

Removed the tape and few stitches I had. Everything is healing well! I don’t have too much bruising which is great. Wasn’t painful at all just a bit uncomfortable. I’ve been placing gauze specifically where the incisions meet the bottom of my boob. I now have the gauze covering my nipples since they are exposed more.

Healing process

Just wanted to add more info on my journey! Sooo I am now about 18 days post surgery and everything is looking good. So grateful for my experience so far, not much bruising, no excess puss, and no odd behavior as they heal. I must say that the itching from the incisions healing is extremely unpleasant but I just gently rub them with my hands so I don’t scratch. I actually woke up in the middle of the night last night because it was way too itchy. I recommend a fan if your a/c turns off because the coolness helps. I haven’t tried icing it yet so maybe I’ll give it that a try. I also have some irritation around my nipple from the previous tape so I put petroleum jelly on it and a nonstick gauze and it’s helped. Also the only thing recommended to put on it!
