I understood that my breast were big at 16. I used to joke that I was shaped like a letter P. I could never wear the cute tube tops or halter style dresses that were in style. As I got older I learned to operate in the world one tank at a time.

5 years ago I started to get back problems. This year I was diagnosed with degenerative disc disease. My spinal doctor deemed a reduction as medically necessary. I was told about this site from a friend. I started to research doctors. It was very overwhelming. I called my insurance company and got a list of in network doctors and it definitely narrowed down my list. I would call some and I could tell right away that it wouldn't be a fit. I then found Dr. Armijo.

I called and the staff was professional and kind. I scheduled my consultation and met him for the first time yesterday. He was so nice and answered all of my questions. I appreciated his bedside manner and integrity. His insurance coordinator Brandy was equally kind. She answered all of the 600 questions I had for her. They are currently putting together a packet to send to BCBS. Now is the longest part, the wait. I want to make sure that I stay active and I hope to help someone through their journey.

About me: 34, 5"11, 36H, medium build. 2 kids aged 7 and 1.

I saw Dr. Armijo on 8/23. My chiropractor, spinal Dr. and Physical Therapist had all documents in by 8/27. My packet was received on 9/4 and I received approval from my insurance company yesterday 9/17.
I was unsure as to if it would be approved based off of the horror stories, but when I heard them say the words I immediately got nervous. My appointments is scheduled for 11/13. I will keep you all posted!

I was ok & happy with insurance covering my reduction. Until the morning I showed up at the hospital & Dr. Green starts doing my markings.... I asked if they could or would do liposuction around my breast & under my armpits where they were cutting out tissue? He looked up and said well insurance doesn’t really allow much! So okay. I have my reduction 500cc removed from each breast I believe. So here a year later I have FATWINGS!!! Under each armpit..... I wish I would have paid for this myself or went to a different doctor!

Oh no! I did ask about the possibility but he said that the insurance didn't cover lip but he made the incision a little further out to tuck it more. I noticed I have a little chub on my back but I'm sure I can work that out. I'm sorry that happened to you.

On Wednesday 11/13 I completed my surgery. I started having random panic attacks 48 hours prior. I had 3 the morning of the surgery my Dr. was so calm and reassuring and the anesthesiologists was awesome as well. Everyone at the hospital made me feel so welcome. I'm 3 days in and the pain is lessening. I am hoping to meet with my Dr. on Monday to remove the drains. I keep peeking at my breast because I can't believe that they are mine! I am so thankful to Dr. Armijo and his team for setting me right. I will post more afte my follow up.
