I will be using the above form to keep track on myself but also to inform you all on my progress. The rating scale will be: 0 being the best and 5 being the worst.
I’m feeling quite relaxed at the moment. With a mixture of thorough research, preparation and being a health profession myself, I don’t have much to be too concerned about. I’ve never been under anaesthesia before but I’ve been told it’s quite an enjoyable experience so I’m not too concerned.
It’s the night before. Admission is at 6:45am with Dr Edmund Ek. I’m due to start fasting 12am including no liquids. I’ve showered, washed my hair, cleansed my face and set up my spare bed with extra large pillows I’ve recently bought to help me sleep upright post op. I think I’m ready!

It’s now 1.30pm and I’m back home. My operation was roughly at 8am and I was discharged by 10.30am. Very efficient I must say.
Going under wasn’t too bad, by the time they confirmed my date of birth and name, I was out from my IV anaesthesia. When I woke up I felt like I just had the best nap ever. I didn’t feel disoriented but I felt extremely thirsty and incredibly cold. I could not stop shaking. I had the nurse put the foil blanket on me with two blankets on top. They gave me water, juice, peppermint tea, a sandwich and a lollipop. I was quite surprised on how I managed to stomach quite a bit...
The car ride home was rough. I was dozing in and out of sleep and I felt quite nauseated. Thankfully the doctor gave me a script for anti nausea so i took that ASAP and that settled the nausea down effectively.
I’ve just napped and had a bit more to eat. Lying upright in bed is alleviating the pressure from my chest but the tightness is real. Definitely feels like my muscles are sore from a decent chest work out. I can’t put pressure on my arms (chest) without inflicting pain. But pain is still minimal. I can’t see my swelling at the moment since I’m strapped in but I’m sure it’ll come. Alertness is odd - one moment I’m wide awake, next moment I’m drowsy.... going to nap now.
Oh.. Dr Ek ended up putting 400cc instead of 375cc to give me the fuller upper pole look when I was under. Eek! I’m excited!

Stiffness and swelling is real. My breasts seems much larger than yesterday from the swelling and stiffness. Pain is actually not present unless I use my chest muscles. Panadol has been enough to cover for the pain and I’ve started taking anti inflammatory to help bring swelling down.
