I had 2 surgery of breast implants with Dr Ek. The first was a botched job from another surgeon and the second was replacement for recalled implants. I decided due to health reasons, to have my breasts explanted, and didn’t know whether he does this or not. I visited him, he supported me in my decision( even if i do say,- my breasts looked sensational) and completely trusted his advice. I had my implants and full capsules removed 6 days ago. I had large implants so he got rid of some loose skin. I am so happy with the way they look and they still have to fluff up a bit. He is very reasonably priced and realistic about your goals, and what can be achieved based on your body. The best surgeon, more than a surgeon- he does really care - thank you to this amazing man!-
I could not be happier. Dr Ek changed my life. I had a BA revision and lift and extended abdominoplasty. I am so thrilled. 1 year post op and I have zero regrets. The team in the office are so helpful, and Dr Ek has a straightforward and caring manner. Highly recommended.
I'm a 49 yr old female, one child, 1m67, 90kgs. I have been wanting to get a breast lift for some time. After breast feeding a child, weight gain, weight loss, and more weight gain, plus ageing, I was becoming more and more dissatisfied looking in the mirror and seeing the increasing sag in my breasts. After doing some research I met with Mr Edmund Ek in May, and again in September to discuss a breast lift, and an augmentation to restore volume in the upper area of the breast. A breast implant without a lift was not an option due to the degree of sag (ptosis) of my breasts. Simply adding an implant would have, over time, simply increase the drop of the breast. During the consultation Ed suggested an implant between 400-425, possibly 450cc. The size was determined based on the measurements of my frame, how much breast tissue I had to cover the implant, how the implant would look once it had fully settled over time, etc. It was felt that 450cc would be the maximum upper limit as, in part, it was what would still give a natural look for the size of my frame, but also, being a larger framed woman with excess weight, any larger would simply make me look too bulky at the top, and just exacerbate the look of being overweight. I had, at the first meeting intended to lose weight (which I managed to lose 6kgs) but with further COVID lockdowns and being unable to get to the gym, plus a lack of discipline in working out at home, the weight was regained. Ed had suggested two options: 1. wait until I achieve my ideal weight and then do the surgery - but be realistic about what weight could be maintained - too much weight fluctuation would affect the final result, or 2. Proceed with the surgery at the current weight. Ultimately, by the second appointment, I decided to proceed. In terms of ideal breasts I had indicated I wanted breasts more like Monica Bellucci - natural, full, with a natural slight hang to them (rather than a droop!). I did not want the fake, stuck on, high projection style. I felt completely comfortable with Ed, the process of sizing in the clinic, the staff, and the communication were without any complaint. The staff are polite, professional, and efficient. My surgery was on hold due to COVID but once restrictions lifted I was able to be scheduled for 13 December. Updated on 5 Jan 2022: Surgery date - 13 Dec (photos from 14th) The week before the surgery I was sent various forms (payment and hospital admittance) to complete. The hospital staff were great, phoning 24hrs before surgery to confirm details. There was a bit of miscommunication and my surgeon, Mr Edmund Ek, was attentive enough to phone after hours to reconfirm details. Admission process was straightforward. Admitted at 12pm for a 1.30pm surgery. They had me change into a gown which opens at the front, put on compression stockings, an IV was inserted in preparation for the anesthetic. Closer to surgery the surgeon came and marked me up, we had a final chat about the size, given my width I asked him to favour the upper limit rather than the lower limit of what he thought was possible. I'd like to pause here to emphasise the point that I put my trust in my surgeon to ultimately make the choice knowing what my preference was. The reason for this is because I am aware that this is his specialty area. He performs these surgeries regularly and has a much better sense of how the weight of the implants will evolve over time, how they will settle, what particular size will suit my frame etc. As it turns out he ultimately opted for 490cc as opposed to what we had originally considered as the upper end of 450cc. I have read through hundreds of reviews where people have ignored their surgeon's advice and have insisted on implants larger than what was recommended or avoided the recommended lift and only doing the implants, only to complain down the track that their breasts are sagging or have bottomed out, etc. I strongly recommend being open to the advice your surgeon gives and following all the post-surgery instructions to the letter. In terms of the surgery - once I was anesthetised I was out within seconds. When I woke I was already in a post-surgical bra (that stays on 24/7 except for showering), my chest wasn't so much painful as more a feeling of having been thumped in the chest. Anyone who has been kicked by a horse might understand it felt like having received a kick to the chest. I was encouraged to suck on a popsicle (which did in fact help) and to try to stand and walk as soon as I was able. It must have taken about an hour for me to feel sufficiently stable enough to walk without feeling nauseous. I was sent home with anti-nausea medication, pain killers, and sleeping tablets. My concern was being able to stay asleep on my back, elevated with pillows. I needn't have worried, with the lingering sedation from the anesthetic I was able to sleep relatively peacefully. The swelling in the upper area of my chest was significant, the skin felt tight and itchy, and my ability to stretch my arms to the side (for example to get a glass of water from the bedside table) was limited, as was my ability to push myself up into a sitting position. I definitely needed help from my husband to help support my weight and avoid using my chest muscles for simple things like pushing myself into a sitting position in bed or reaching to the side for a glass of water. I was able to shower the following day but I opted to have a shallow bath that I sat in (well below my stomach) and my husband helped to wash me and support me out of the bath tub. I didn't trust myself to not get the bandages wet in the shower. The bandages needed to stay on until my 1 week post-surgery review. More updates to follow.
I had my areola reduction with Dr Ek today, and I couldn’t rate him highly enough! For a plastic surgeon he’s very well priced and choosing him wasn’t a hard decision at all after having the consultation with him. He has a wealth of knowledge that shows and makes you feel extremely comfortable throughout the process. I have a couple of friends that have chosen to have their procedures with him and seeing some of their results made me feel very confident that I was in good hands Hopefully the healing process goes well! So far I haven't had any pain medication due to very minimal pain & minimal sensitivity
Dr Edmund is very experienced and listened to what I wanted. He took everything on board and gave me the breasts I felt I should've always had based on my proportions and shape. It was such a positive experience, everyone at the clinic he operates from respond in a professional and timely manner. I would suggest consulting with Dr EK if you're interested in breast augmentation and live in Melbourne. He was my second opinion and I do not regret choosing to go with him in the end.The after care process has been great and I can't wait to see my results after my complete recovery!
Dr Edmund ek is literally the best plastic surgeon I have ever had the pleasure In having work done by. He has a big heart, a very keen eye for detail and for what is best for hes patient , hes very professional but also has a way of calming your nerves with how relaxed he is. After 50+ kilos of weightloss ed supported/encouraged me for just over a year . He went above and beyound hes duty of care and has changed my life forever in the matter of only a few hours :). I couldn't reccomend a better surgeon if I tried.
I first approached Edmunk Ek regarding my classical c section scar abd the fact that I could not see my belly button as it was covered with skin. I was advised I could simply have the scar corrected so my belly button was sitting where it belonged or have a tummy tuck which would remove all my c section scars and most of my keyhole surgery scars (I had 6) and leave me with the 1 large tummy tuck scar. That sounded like a great option so decided to go down that path. Whilst there, I noted I wasn't happy with my breasts as breastfeeding for a combined total of 4 years and 4 months hadn't left them in the best state. I was photographed from all angles by his assistant and told I would receive a quote the following day. After seeing Dr Ek I had a consult with an alternate plastic surgeon and the consultations could not have been any more different. Dr Ek listened to what outcomes I wanted and reassured me he could achieve MY desired outcomes. The alternate plastic surgeon spoke about multiple surgeries and told me what outcomes I should expect. Dr Ek truly listens to his patients and made me feel so comfortable I was excited for surgery more than scared or hesitant.
I have been thinking about having a breast augmentation for many years. Always looking at photos and dreaming that one day I could afford surgery and work up the courage to go through with it. I am a nurse and researched so many surgeons and became overwhelmed and would give up. I came across Ed through searching and worked up the courage to make an appointment. My partner came with me and I went there with no expectations. I still was not confident that I would ever go through with it. Ed made me feel so comfortable from the moment I meet him and walked into his office. His relaxed manner and nature made my decision so easy. He explained the procedure, pre and post surgery. The day of my surgery I felt so nervous, once again Ed was there with his smiling face and relaxed manner. Post surgery was no doubt painful and this pain lasted a few weeks and still continues with slight nerve pain, but bearable. My 6 week post op follow up with Ed was great, he was pleased as I was. He has fulfilled a long time dream that I never thought I would go ahead with but I would recommend Ed to anybody who is considering a breast augmentation.
Mr Ek was an exceptional surgeon and I’m So glad I was recommendied to him by another surgeon. At all times I felt well cared for, knew he was listening to my questions and explaining everything so well. I am over the moon happy with my results and so thankful he did my surgeey. Will definitely be returning to see Mr Ek in the future for other procedures
Dr Ek was so warm and down to earth from the very first meeting. He took the time to get to know me and what I wanted to gain out of my BA experience, as well as telling me about himself so it really didn't feel like we were strangers. He listened to every one of my concerns and was able to reassure me with facts and statistics. It was so easy to decide on a size, brand, implant position with his recommendations. I didn't even hesitate and booked my surgery with him that same day! He has made me feel so at ease throughout this whole process.
Good luck with your upcoming operation. At 4 weeks your wounds will still be quite fresh but you should be able to get into bathers at that stage - assuming no complications. Bear in mind, it will still be early on and your shape will continue to improve/change over time so don't buy too many new clothes/bathers until everything has settled. Best of luck
Congratulations on your surgery. From the photo you have posted it appears that your early results are very good and you should be pretty happy. At 1 month it is still very early days and you should expect further improvement in your shape and appearance. Be patient and keep in touch with your surgeon. Congratulations again.
I'm sorry to hear about your concerns. Looking at your photos I would agree that it appears that you have developed a double bubble deformity. This is a consequence of the natural IMF being released and the implants falling below that fold. This may improve with time but it is likely that you will require further revision surgery. A potential solution may be fat grafting to soften the area of the old fold. It would be best for you to keep in touch with your surgeon to discuss your concerns. Best of luck
I would suggest a vertical scar (lollipop) breast lift with auto-augmentation of the upper pole utilising tissue from the lower pole of the breast. This will improve your upper pole fullness and shape. If you'd like, this can be combined with fat grafting to improve overall shape and volume. From a costs point of view, prices can vary from 11 - 15k depending on insurance coverage. Best of luck
Congratulations on your early results! I am sure you will be very happy with your final results once everything settles. Best of luck
