Buh-bye 12 Year Old Boy Boobies!!

WORTH IT
After... *ahem* 35 years of shoving cutlets and socks (yea I went there), buying double your size bras.. always having the lights off in bed...various consults on the East coast... I FINALLY did it. I found an amazing surgeon who made me feel confident enough to take time to invest in myself. As a Momma of a 17 year old and an 8 year old- freshly divorced from a toxic man and environment.. I could not be happier with my results so far. I have done extensive research and know that this is a fluid healing process that requires my patience. I’m currently 3 days post-op. I only have experienced tightness.. it felt like my boobs were huge pimples and if I touched them my nips were gonna pop off- but today, it’s 50% better. I can’t take pain meds, so I have comfortably got by with Tylenol and muscle relaxers. Ice is my bestie. I am 128 lbs 5’6” tall. I didn’t even come close to an A cup prior. We went with 415cc Sientra moderate plus “gummy bear” implants “under” the muscle. I went in the morning after surgery for a check up and was greeted with a beautiful flower arrangement. They switched me from a sports bra to an underwire with a breast strap to help contour my breast fold and help my implants drop into the natural tear drop shape I’m looking for. I’m so lucky to have such a talented, seasoned plastic surgeon less than an hour away. Dr.Garazo and his team are top shelf!

Where’d This Infection Come from :(

Brookes85
My whole life I’ve wanted to increase my not even A cups. I finally was at a place in my life to make it happen. Made the appt and got my 415cc Sientras under the muscle. First 2 weeks were a breeze but then I over did it. I had a huge need to crack my back. For days I tried everything. (Sleeping on your back for 2 weeks straight is horrible). I woke up on day 13 post op, tried to crack my back.. again. But this time something happened. My left implant went right back up under the muscle. Spasms started back up, I could only take shallow breaths. It felt like I either pulled or tore my pec muscle. The pain radiated from the middle of my shoulder blades, under my left armpit and across the top of my left breast, pulling at my sternum. This happened on a Wednesday afternoon. My incisions were closed and healthy, implants had dropped into place (yes- after just 13 days).
Mad at myself for over doing it (scrubbing walls, floors, taking garbage out ect.) I put my breast strap back on, focusing on my left breast that went back up into no-drop-zone & started my muscle relaxers back up. Come Friday morning I was feeling a good bit better but now my left boob tripled in size. It was like all the inflammation from under my armpit and back ventured it’s way down to my boob. I was even slightly bruised under my armpit and on my lower sternum.
My boyfriend wouldn’t let me go the weekend without seeing my board certified PS... so I went, they cultured my healed incision (just in case) and the nurse contributed it to my injury. (Doc was out for a week but closely followed me via pics and communication).
Saturday I woke up and seen a thin flake of white dead skin on a part of my incision. I pulled the tiny piece off. BIG mistake.
A few hours later, all the pain, swelling and redness went to my incision. I had a follow up on Monday so I just babied it. Clear fluid dropped out by Sunday- nothing major tho. Monday am I woke up soaked. (I had put a piece of gauze and tape over it the night before)
Off to the bathroom I went. Pulled up my shirt and didn’t even get to take my dressing totally off before light green, hot fluid POURED from 2 spots from my incision. Every time I thought it was done draining I’d move my hand/pressure on my boob and tons more would stream out.
MORTIFIED!!! No pain or fever.. but what a mess. I got dressed and back to the dr I go. Buuuut he’s out this week remember?? So the nurse cultured again, said my first culture came back negative for everything. I was already on keflex since Friday. I told her obviously it’s not right if I haven’t had any improvement in almost 4 days. I left.. doc called me and switched it cipro.
I woke up the next day feeling soooo much better and each day was better and better. Follow up on Thursday- find out I was positive for staph. I had been putting bacitracin on- which left my wound messy, wet and green. They had me stop and only do dry dressings.
What I thought was a scan forming, ended up being my incision opening. By Saturday I had 2 black holes in it. By Sunday, I could see the shiny black implant. Seen my doc on Monday and less than 24hrs later ... I had to bid farewell to my left implant. I gained a new friend but he sucks... literally. This drain is the worst.. ehhhh I take it back.. having a uni-boob for the next 3 months is gonna be the worst.
I have no clue how an injury caused an infection to the point of explanation but it did.
I’m so looking forward to healing and getting a new one put in. I’m sharing my story bc I probably put at least 40 hours of internet research in and couldn’t find any similar stories.

oh my god im so sorry this happened to you. you have to wait 3 months? ugh!

Yes I was so heartbroken but after reading a bagillion articles I realized that my board certified surgeon made the right decision.. it has been 37 days since my left implant was removed. I’m thankful I haven’t had any fluid build up, I started massaging the scar/indent a little over a week ago and if I do a really good job- when I go for my 2 month check up- they’ll schedule my new implant surgery (for one month out). He cultured my incision in the OR before he took it out,, as well as multiple places deep in my pocket after taking it out. All of them came back negative for any growth. So I’m hopeful for the min 3 month waiting period vs a year. Good thing I’ve been used to padding and making my boobs bigger than they appear for the past 28

Aww thank you!! I was an emotional mess at first but once I got past the first 3 weeks and wasn’t scared to death of infection again.. I got back to my positive self. While I still won’t let my man see me topless (that doesn’t stop him from popping my good boob out

Haha! Good to know you are in better spirits. You know, men don't care as long as there's a nipple lol

After 3 long months with one boob...I finally got it back in!!!

Brookes85
3 months of walking around with one boob during summer was not fun but I finally had the OK to have my implant placed in again.. I am now going on day 3 post op. I haven't had any issues so far so far and the spasms are not what they were the 1st time I had it done. He did however place AJP drain P drain due to my my score tissue seeping and he did not want to risk any added pressure to my incision from swelling... The last thing I want is for my incision to open up again. Hopefully this implant drops quickly like the other one did but either way I'm still so thankful I have it back in and hopefully can move on from this and enjoy my new boobies!!
