WORTH IT

Next month is approaching fast and I'm getting so excited... stay tuned. I booked my procedure a few months ago and have been in touch with Mariana who has been so helpful. I have also met with Dr Ochoa via Zoom and he is so friendly and patient.

5 Days Post Op

I am so pleased with my overall experience with Dr Ochoa and his staff at The New Medical Plaza as well as The Surgery Room. My experience from Day of surgery to present are as followed:
Day 1: My Husband and I Drove into TJ and checked into his room at The Quartz Hotel about 12:30. At about 1:30 we took a short walk through the beautiful lobby and restaurants area to the connecting The New Medical Plaza building Nextdoor. We paid our balance with Mariana and received our hospital instructions as well as directions. We took the short 5 minute drive to Corporativo Central and headed up to The Surgery Room. In under 30 minutes my paper work was filled and I was placed into my recovery suite where I would be staying after my surgery. The air conditioning was excellent and the TV smart with Netflix was a great added bonus. I had my IV inserted and was visited my the nurse to go over my medical history and my vitals. Then I was visited by the anesthesiologist who was very thorough when answering my questions and even made me laugh a few times to ease my stress. I was then visited by Dr. Ochoa who so friendly, kind and thorough. He went over implant sizing, placement, breast lift option and what to expect before and after surgery. I prayed with my husband gave him a big hug and kiss then was taken to the operating room. The remainder of the night was a bit of a blur since the anesthesia was still wearing off but from what I remember I was very comfortable. My husband came to see me stayed for a little then went back to his hotel. I put on beach waves on the tv to help relax me and received occasional visits from the nurse for my pain meds and liquids. I slept pretty well and wasn’t in too much pain.
Day 2: My husband checked out of his hotel and came to see me first thing in the morning. I was then visited by Dr. Ochoa again to check my incisions and to go over the recovery process and what to except the next few weeks. After he left I was given breakfast which was simple but still very good. Before leaving I had my IV taken out by the nurse and was given my medications to take home as well as care instructions. To cross back into the US from the hospital took only 20 minutes which is amazing! I was placed into bed as soon as I got home and rested.
Day 3: The pain is bearable but the bloating and constipation is no joke! I took some stool softeners and drank some tea and was able to use the restroom finally. Sleeping on my back is harder than I thought and I developed a mild sore throat and phlegm from the anesthesia. Water, Tea and Lemon Mint Ricolas were everything.
Day 4: I’m starting to feel significantly less pain and swelling and am having trouble watching my husband do everything and not able to help. All and all a good day, no side effects from the medication besides drowsiness, bloating and constipation. Pain is minimal and was able to have a better night sleep.
Day 5: not much to say about today except for besides the tenderness around incision area I feel great. Same side effects with medications mentioned above but nothing terrible. I’m loving the way my breasts and nipples look so far and am getting excited for what they will look like once they soften and settle.
Thank You Dr. Ochoa and Staff!! I had such a smooth experience. 5 Stars!! Would definitely recommend!

Hi! I'm considering going to him. Could I ask you some more questions?
July 29, 2021
Sure, go for it!

Thanks! I'm deciding between him and Dr. Gaxiola. They both seem great but I didn't have a consultation with Dr. Ochoa because he doesn't offer virtual ones currently. Did you have a consultation?

Also, can I ask how long it took for you to get back to moving around. I have a baby and of course everyone is different, but I'm just trying to get a gauge on what to expect.

We didn't exactly have a virtual consultation. I sent videos and photos of me and my wish pics and I would exchange Phone calls and email with Dr. Ochoa regarding procedure and pricing. Hope this helps.

I was moving around at about day 3. My kids are older 5+ so I didn't have to carry them but I didn't start resuming my daily household activities until 2 weeks. I still haven't attempted to carry anything heavy just to be safe.

Got it. Ok! Amazing. Is there anything else you would say he did really well or if you would have preferred something differently? I really appreciate your help!

So Corny but there is literally nothing I would change or do different. My overrall experience was amazing and a lot smoother than I thought it would be.

Amazing! That's very comforting to hear. Thanks for your help!
