I had been thinking about a rhinoplasty for a few...

I had been thinking about a rhinoplasty for a few years. I had a lovely familial roman nose that seemed to be getting more hooked by the year. After seeing some particularly brutal photos from a vacation last fall, I decided to book some consultations in the Seattle area to see what the process would be like. Six months later, I've had the procedure and it was completely worth it!

What a great experience with Dr. Ridgway and the Newvue team. I came in for a consultation on what I thought would be a strictly cosmetic procedure, but Dr. Ridgway did a quick exam and determined that I had a deviated septum that would likely be covered by insurance. Before this, I had seen another surgeon in Seattle who had not mentioned this at all so I was both surprised and very pleased that he had taken the time to check on this. In the initial consultation, he took time to go through my list of questions and answered each question honestly and thoughtfully. When I left, I gave my insurance information to the billing associates and they checked with my insurance company for me to determine my coverage. At my pre-op appointment, Dr. Ridgway walked me through the imaging process. He took the time to make sure I was happy with the images we decided upon and even answered some frantic emails I had the week before the procedure (gotta love those pre-surgery nerves). The procedure itself ended up being more complicated, I think, than they had anticipated due to my nose structure. Once I was in recovery and learned more about how much of a "hot mess" my nose had been, I was so happy that I had decided to go with Dr. Ridgway. Other doctors will try to sell you on closed rhinoplasties so you won't have the scar, but the scar is tiny and my understanding is that the visibility a surgeon gets from the open rhinoplasty allows them to be a lot more precise. The recovery was tough, but worth it. Dr. Ridgway gives his patients his cell in case anything comes up and I texted him on a Saturday morning to ask him a question. He responded and was super friendly. It's been about 6 weeks now and the craziest thing is how natural the results are. I still look and feel like myself - so much that it's easy to forget that I ever looked any different! I can also breathe so much better thanks to the internal work he did. I haven't received the billing information from my insurance company so I don't yet know the total amount, but the procedure will still end up being less than what other doctors would charge out-of-pocket for a straight rhinoplasty (based on a quote I received from another doctor). 100% worth it and would do it again in a heartbeat.
