It’s been a disaster! Already had two revisions and now I need another one.
This has been such a tough time!
I ended up having a revision on both sides I think in 2022. They mainly charged me for the operating room room and anesthesia, etc. But it was still over $3500 more. And then not long after (I think April 2024) I ended up with a second revision on the right side after I developed a capsular contraction on that side (and another $3000 or so…and taking more time off of work and dealing with pain and recovery…)
FYI -my implants are above the muscle. They were put in originally over 20 years ago and were above the muscle. And I was just afraid of a complicated surgery of closing the pockets above the muscle and then putting new ones under the muscle.
AAAND again I have a capsular contraction, back on the left side, and the right side is sagging some, it seems somewhat bottomed out. The nipple on the right side did not heal right either.
Unfortunately, the doctor doesn’t seem to have a good plan. He tells me some things that could maybe be done (re-lifting the right side, and/or removing all or part of the capsule on the left side, and/or trying some kind of product made from human or pig skin or something to try to prevent another capsular contraction…)
He didn’t seem to really have a good plan. I even at one point asked if the doctors ever consulted with each other on tough cases, but he pretty much blew that off.
At this point, it seemed the most sense to fix the breast with the main issue, which is the capsular contraction on the left. They sent me a quote for about $3800 for the procedure and then another $850 or so for a new implant I wanted…
This has been a disaster! Every single surgery has led to a complication very soon after. And we just keep chasing our tails.
I’ve already spent around $18,000 and still am not much better than when I started.
I finally decided what I should’ve done a long time ago. I am getting another opinion (likely at least a couple) with surgeons who have an experience with revisions. I did get a couple consultations before I came to this doctor. He really seemed to be very thorough, and I had gotten a recommendation for him. But unfortunately, it just doesn’t seem to be working.
And now I will have to start over with a new doctor and it will probably cost a lot more money to try to fix things…
I’m trying not to get too depressed about this!

Revision scheduled
Unfortunately, six months later, I scheduled a revision. The one side is still much higher and rounder than the other side. In fact, overtime, the other one has dropped more to make it even more noticeable. Unfortunately also, both breasts need to be revised. He’s going to remove the capsule from the one side that is higher and rounder, and re-lift the other side a little bit.
So disappointing. Another surgery. Another recovery. And, I have to pay another $5100.
Hopefully after this at least I’ll be happy. I know I’ve been told that breasts are sisters not twins, but before the surgery, it was pretty much the opposite! The other side was higher and rounder because of the capsular contracture, and the other side was lower and saggier.
Revision is scheduled for June 24… The countdown begins again

Breasts uneven…
Almost 5 months after my surgery, and the breasts are uneven. Before, the right side had a capsular contracture and was higher and rounder. Now, the left side is high and round and the Right side is flatter!
A little frustrated. Spent a lot of money and went through significant discomfort, and still have quite noticeable pink scars, to have them look so different.
I really don’t want to think about a revision, but right now, I’m just not feeling great about where I am.
