WORTH IT
My surgery took place on 1/10/19 at 10:30am. I am 6 days post operation. 31 year old woman.
Dr. Hamilton and his staff are very nice. He has a great team. Dr Hamilton, his assistant (I believe his name is E), Noellia (surg coordinator), James the anesthesiologist, and nurse Vanessa calmed my nerves through the whole process. lol
I've wanted this done for about 12 years now. Typical complaints with the AA nose........bridge too wide (almost masculine), tip was flat droopy and round with no definition. I always take pics from certain angles to avoid how big it is.
Dr Hamilton has some mixed reviews on here. They turned me off at a certain point but after my consultation with him, I decided to trust my gut. I can't speak for other ppls experiences but so far I'm doing good. I really wanted a doc who wasn't going to make my nose look pinched or overdone. I still want to look like a black woman just with a cuter nose.
Things You Should Know About Rhinoplasty:
1. Do NOT judge your nose with the cast on. The first 4 days after surgery I kinda freaked out. I still had my cast and tape on. My nose was looking a little too upturned (piggish). Well it turns out the tape they use right after surgery pulls your nose up a little. As soon as he took the cast off, I immediatly felt relieved that I didn't have a pig nose. The tape and cast are a bit distorting. I remember another one of his reveiwer's saying the same thing.
2. It is not a pretty or comfortable process. When i woke up from surgery I felt like I had been smacked in the face with a brick. The anesthesiologist had to hurry and pump more pain medicine into me. Ohhhhhh, Facial swelling/bruising hits hard on Day 2-3. My eyes were dark purple and top lip protruding out over my bottom lip. Cheeks were huge. When you are going through all of this, its tough to remember the outcome you'll have. I actually got kinda sad. Its day 6 and under my eyes have now turned a little yellow (better than dark purple). My cheeks and top lip are still puffy; just not as bad. This morning I woke up with so much pressure in my face. It feels like a really bad sinus infection. But I can see the direction Im heading in and Im feeling much better.
3. The final results are NOT instant. Dr. Hamilton said we're called patients because we need to be patient. lol I was so busy researching doctors (rightfully so) that I didn't research the recovery as well as I should have. Research the recovery so you know what to expect. My cast came off yesterday and immediately I can tell that my nose is much smaller, bridge is narrowed. The side view/profile has a slight feminine upturn which is cute. BUT I can tell that I have a lot of swelling to get through. It takes months before the majority of swelling is gone. I have swelling down the bridge of my nose and especially the tip. The tip isn't showing as much definition right now because it is so swollen. The skin around my nose is really tight; again because of swelling. My research and Dr Hamilton says it takes about 2-3 months for everything to settle and your nose to be closer to the final results. Right now I can see the outline (if that makes sense) and Im happy with it. I will provide another review in 2 months when the swelling has went down and I can see more of the details. Be sure to look at those youtube videos that show the process your nose goes through as swelling subsides.
Pics will be uploaded in the next few days when I have the time to blur out my eyes and all of that good stuff.

This is about 10 days post. still a lot of swelling. The difference is only subtle to me in pictures. But when I look in the mirror it’s very noticeable to me. Only 1 other person noticed.
Apparently I have to have a long review so at this point I’m just typing to take up space.

Glad you had a good experience with Dr Hamilton. Maybe it’s just the luck of the draw bc many of us have had horrible experiences with him and I would not recommend anyone to him.
