Scar Revision with Dr. Prichard. Scottsdale, AZ
ORIGINAL POST
I will update this more in detail later. I have...
WORTH IT$1,700
I will update this more in detail later. I have been taking pics along my journey. I flew from Kansas City to Phoenix because I saw a review on here with a lovely young lady who had almost the exact same scar I had over my left eye. It was starting to droop so I decided to fly out to see the same doctor that fixed her eye. He was really nice and his office is beautiful. I will right more later, so far I am happy with my results.

I see a definite improvement already. Your eye doesn't look as droopy. Look forward to seeing final results.

Here are some pictures of my journey so far.
I am not very trusting when it comes to letting doctors work on my face. When I saw one of Dr. Prichard's patients on here with the same scar and what he did for her, I knew I was going to fly to see him. I booked an early morning flight and ended up having to leave my house at 4am to get to the airport. I ended up not even sleeping that night so by the time I finally reached his office at 11am the next morning, I was so dead tired.
If you fly to see Dr. Prichard, note that his office is the one in Scottsdale, not Phoenix! I made the mistake of giving my taxi driver the other address and it cost me another 30 dollars. It was nice not having to navigate traffic, but next time I would definitely rent a car! Also, bring Motrin or Tylenol. I used all my cash on the taxi (because I used a more expensive one and then had him go to the wrong address). The night of surgery I had a massive headache. All the flying, dehydration, awkward sleep on plane, and getting my face cut up all contributed to my awful headache. Jadie gave me a prescription for hydrocodone and boy do I wish I had already got that filled. The pharmacy that was walking distance from my hotel didn't have hydrocodone! I was in a lot of pain until I met my husband at the airport. I took a Motrin and felt much much better. I think Tylenol or Ibuprofen would be fine for this procedure but just incase make sure you bring stuff with you. Drink lots of water and make sure you get rest the night before your flight.
Will update later on the actual procedure.

Reading your post was great. I had an acne scar excised on my cheek several years ago, and unfortunately I have gone through two failed excisions. If your end result is extremely good then I may schedule a consultation with Dr. Prichard as I am looking for a third try with a reputable skilled doctor. I also live in Phoenix so that is a huge plus for me. Looking forward to your updates! Thanks for the post!

he revised a chicken pock scar as well (above my eyebrow) for free. I am not sure what I think about the results yet. I think it looks better, but there is a little lump there and it's still kinda red. Just waiting for it to heal then I will post pictures of it.

Healing is going really well. I wear the tape every night, however, sometimes I forget to put it back on after my morning shower. The tape comes off every time I wash my face. I took out the stitch on day 6. It was super easy and painless. I just had to snip the knot off the end and pull it through. This is what my scar looks like at around 5-6 weeks. It looks wayyyy better and I'm so glad I did it.

The results look amazing so far. My 2nd excision kind of ended up like that but somehow it ended up opening a little, and failed just like the first one. I did not pay anywhere near as much as you did though.
You paid $1,700 for one excision? I made the mistake of going through a dermatologist the first time and paid $170. The second time that I did this I ended up going through a plastic surgeon, and had paid around $400.
I also noticed you had two scars excised, so did you end up paying $1,700 for both scars, or just one scar excision?
The reason I am asking is because the price seem quite steep for a scar excision but if the results are almost perfect then it be entirely worth it.
After looking at your pictures I see that you actually paid $1,700, and he added in the second excision for free.
Wow that is really steep a star excision though.

I thought so too. He explained that my old scar was due to the ER doc using glue in my wound instead of stitches. The actual muscle was separated. He had to recut my muscle and sew it tight. I had a mass of scar tissue. I probably could have found someone closer for cheaper but I didn't find any results like mine from any other doc. I'm glad I went to him.
At what stage of your healing did your scar reopen?

Also he told me to tape it got 3 months. Maybe that's helped it not open? I need to tape it now

I also wanted to add that he did the top excision free of charge. The eyebrow was the only one I went in for. I think because it takes him very little time and the area was already numb so he figured he might as do the one above too.

I have a scar on my forehead kind of like the one you have. Would you mind posting pictures of that one as well? I've been looking into scar revision for a while but don't know what resources to trust. Thank goodness for Real Self!

Yes, I wiill try to hunt down some befores to compare to. :) I am not sure what I think about that revision. It's still there but it doesn't seem as deep. the eyebrow revision looks great.
