Hello, Im an African-American looking to have laser hair removal on my beard to treat ingrowns. My skin tone would be classified as a 5 on the Fitzpatrick scale. Which settings for the YAG would be most appropriate and safest to use on my skin, including: Spot Size, Fluence (Joules), Pulse Duration, and Cryo? Im aware that settings can differ from individual to individual, so I'm essentially looking for the safest settings or range of settings that would minimize skin complications. Thank you
Is it possible that this could be the case? I am a 20 year old female of indian descent and I have excessive hair on my face. I have had 5 treatments of yag laser hair removal on my face and so far I can only see the hair thinning. In the first two treatments on the lower settings i saw the most difference, hair was actually dropping out, whereas on the higher settings, no difference was seen. Is it possible that i respond to lower settings better? Should I tell the lady to lower the setting?
I've been having laser treatments to remove my tattoo which is now around 75% faded. However, I've had issues with a lingering brown colour, which I've been told is likely PIH. We've tried going over it again at higher fluences to try and break down the excess melanin, but this just seems to worsen it for a time. I've read that a few sessions using low fluences can sometimes help to lighten it, is this the case? If so, what would be the optimal settings? Thanks in advance.
I had a consult for laser hair removal and the laser was discussed for my skin type. I would like to know what the average settings are for darker skin with the yag to compare what will be used at my appointment for treatment.
