Hello doctors, I've begun vbeam for 6 week old hypertrophic scarring caused by laser resurfacing to the eye area. The second treatment is scheduled 10 days after the first treatment. How often and how many is the norm for achieving maximum benefits? Will this be complete when the scar is colourless/flat? And then would I wait 12-18 months for laser resurfacing options? I'm worried having ongoing and frequent treatments with possible bruising will interfer with my life.
I went in for a Vbeam on a pretty old hypertrophic scar on my nose that was very red. At first I thought the VBeam worked great (a day or 2) after the healing, the scar looked much, much lighter but about a week later, the redness returned; granted not to the same degree. This is not rosacea, its a hypertrophic scar on my nose so I'm wondering why the redness returned to the treated area even though a few days after healing it seemed much lighter?
I'm nearly 3 weeks Post OP on three hypertrophic (already flat) scars that I wanted to improve the appearance of. My cosmetic dermatologist used the following lasers: 1. Pico, 2. V-beam, 3. 1540 Non-ablative Fractional ICON XD. The scars all look the same except they are darker and much more noticeable than they were before. In sum, all three scars look worse. I regret spending the money. Can Bleaching creams reverse this? Here is one scar before and after.
My scar is darker than the surrounding skin. It's been like that for quite some time now from when I was very young and had a large cyst that resulted in this. Scar used to be a hypertrophic scar that is now flat. It is on my upper arm. I would like to look at ways to lighten the scar so it can match my skin. I'm not sure if it's this color because of hyper vascularity or due to hyperpigmentation. Any creams that I can use to make the skin blend in?
