Hey all, I have a classic case of massive weight loss (55 kg). I had gastric sleeve 6 years ago where I lost 45 then 10 more through diet/exercise this year. Can I get away with just an extended tummy tuck? I really dont want the fdl vertical scar but Im worried that Ill bulge and look strange. Also would back lipo benefit me or do I absolutely need a back lift? Thank you!
Surgeon told me I can do a mini tummy tuck or a full with a vertical scar more than likely. He then said I'm also a candidate for lipo and jplasma. I'm so torn! I am a mom of 4 and super active but I would love to avoid a scar if I don't need it. I don't mind my stretch marks but I don't want my stomach to turn into a wrinkled mess either.
I'm interested in a tummy tuck. If I'm not a candidate for the FDL tummy tuck and get an extended TT, could my previous vertical scar be removed? Thank you. PREVIOUS SURGERIES: Lapriscopic hysterectomy Open ab surgery to repair tear during hysterectomy Large incisional hernia/AWR with mesh x2 (first surgery for hernia failed)
I had major abdominal surgery 10 years ago to remove a tumor (size of a volleyball!) and ovary. The scar is from belly button to pubic bone. Between the stretch from that tumor and my two pregnancies following, I am so self conscious about my stomach. I'm a good 30 pounds from my goal, but no matter my weight, my lower stomach always looks like a butt
I was so excited about getting a consult today in regards to a tummy tuck. The surgeon mentioned that because my belly button tends to be on the higher side, I may have a vertical scar along with the horizontal scar. Has anyone had this before? How big is the scar? Is it visible? Why would a vertical scar be needed? I plan on contacting my surgeon for further clarification, but was wanting to get some insights. Please break it down in laymans terms.
I had a tt with horizontal and vertical scar. The vertical scar is from bellybutton to horizontal scar. I knew I would need small vertical as I didnt have a ton of excess skin and I was ok with that, but then I ended up needing a long vertical. Ive never experienced weight loss (Im 54, 140 lbs, very fit). Under what circumstances does a thin person also need the vertical?
What will happen to my vertical scar during pregnancy and can I have an abdominoplasty during my next c-section? I had a child by c-section at 21 years old. Three months later I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer which left me with a vertical scar from the top of my pubic bone up past my belly button.I am now 26 and my husband and I are now cleared to try for another baby. I have two questions. Will the scar stretch and hurt? And two, can an abdominoplasty be performed during my c-section?
I have my full tummy tuck done 5 weeks ago with a vertical scar that doesn't seem to heal. Now it's scabing over, my plastic surgeon said it will fall off by itself but I'm scare of necrosis. I'm seeing him in 2 days and will ask for wound debribement. Should I be worried? It is completely dried and the scab seems to get smaller as the week goes by.
Famale, 58, full TT with abdominal repair. I had a full TT about 1.5 ago followed by lipo 6 months ago. I have this shelf above the scar. My plastic surgeon said this was due to my anatomy and the skin being thicker on top than bottom. Im wondering if there is anything that can be done to fix it or if Im fated to have to look as bad before I had the TT. The surgeon is well regarded in the area. I didnt have much loose skin hence the small belly button vertical scar.
As a result of about 15 lbs of weight loss, I have some loose and crepey skin on my stomach above and below the naval. I am currently 5'4 and 112 lbs. The Board Certified PS I saw said he will have to create a new belly button and the scar will come from sewing up where the old one was. I was all for it until he told me that. This is in addition to the regular tummy tuck scar. Why is this and is there another way?
