My doctor says my tummy tuck surgery will be challenging due to scar tissue from 2 past liposuctions done 20 years ago, that I may not get as smooth or as tight a result. I am 70 years old, no pregnancies, fit, BMI 21. I don't know if I should have muscle tightening. Have not read anything about past lipo presenting problems and would like to understand this better. Am I not a good candidate? Don't PS's deal with this all the time? Pics are w/tummy pulled in & tummy relaxed.
I had my tummy tuck a year ago and this lump started surfacing. I went to my surgeon and he thought it may be a cyst because it seemed a bit squishy and slightly moveable. He inserted a needle into the lump to try and extract any fluids but it was solid. He prescribed antibiotics and wants to see me in two weeks and he said he wanted to make a small incision underneath it and try and pull out whatever it is. Do you have any ideas what this lump could be? Maybe scar tissue?
I am 3 months post op from a tummy tuck. My healing has been textbook, but I have this little hard lump under my incision just over my pubic area. I noticed it by month 2 and now that the swelling is decreasing every day, it's actually visible. It does not hurt at all and feels like one of those little bouncy balls from a vending machine. Could it be scar tissue? Should it be going away by 3 months?
I am 52 years old. 56, 163lbs. I am in good health. I had a botched liposuction over 12 years ago. I went in for lipo to correct the lumps and unevenness of the belly. The upper part of my abdomen was big and the lower part was flat and lumpy. The first surgeon said I needed a tummy tuck to repair the abdominal wall. I am 6 months post op and there is no difference with my stomach except for scar tissues and keloids. what do I do? I am devastated.
I am 3 years post TT with MR. I still swell daily and it gets really hard and swelling can be painful to the touch. Is the shelf like appearance of my tummy due to poor healing of my scar and build up of scar tissue internally? And if so, would a revision address this? A massage therapist told me this is lymph that can't drain because of my scar, could a revision improve this?
I had a full tummy tuck in 8-1-23. In September at follow up I had a seroma he cut open and drained about 2 cups of fluid. In December I saw my Dr. and had fat nercrosis removed in January. He said I had scar tissue left and we would discuss at it at my next appointment. On April 16th he is going to start injections to dissolve the scar tissue. The area is hard, uncomfortable and hurts. I want this removed but am afraid Ill possibly go through all the above again if I have a revision.
Hello! Had ETT with MR 4/15/22. My left side of my incision constantly hurts in a small area. Ive been on to see my ps because I swear I thought I had opened internally in that spot. He doesn't think so and gave me a shot in my incision at that area of steroid and nerve block in which I almost came off the table screaming in pain. He said that its a nerve or its scar tissue the nerve is stuck in/around. What else could it be?!! Does this sound accurate of what Im experiencing? Im so over it
Will j plasma or any kind of skin tightening effects how much skin can be pulled down? Because I've heard that plasma is temporary but won't it cause more scar tissue making it a little bit more difficult to perform the tummy tuck?
After a lot of reading, it seem that permanent (non-dissolvable) sutures are commonly used internally when repairing the abdominal muscles in tummy tucks, often a form of nylon based on what I'm reading. This makes me kind of anxious: do they tend to hold up for life? What happens if one breaks? Does the risk of them breaking go down as time passes - or is it less of an issue if they do break years later because scar tissue forms? And finally, do some have immune responses to permanent sutures?
