I'm having difficulty finding information on FAB (floating abdominoplasty). How can I search for providers who perform this? I am curious how the cost and results compare to a traditional TT. I am in good shape, at ideal weight, just have stubborn belly fat. Prior c-section. Prefer St. Louis, MO but could travel. Also wondering why this procedure is not listed on Real Self. Thanks in advance.
35f 5ft 2inch 114lbs. I have diastasis recti 5cm and umbilical hernia. One consult said I could not have a true hernia repair with full abdominoplasty because it would compromise blood flow to umbilicus. He said that only umbilical float could facilitate both simultaneously. However my belly button already sits low but I don't have much excess skin. He did say there's would be some skin excess since he doesn't want to lower belly button too much. Is this a reasonable approach?
Hello, Im considering a umbilical float (FAB) abdominoplasty. I have minor sagging and muscle separation after 2 kids. Can you tell me what is the difference between this procedure and a mini tuck? The pros and cons for a patient with my profile and the recovery time too? Thank you very much
Interested in an umbilical float but worried about the position/lowering of my belly button. If I tell my PS I don't want any skin removed above belly button, can they theoretically not move the belly button and just put it back in place? (so detach simply to allow for full muscular repair?). I don't have much/any loose skin above the belly button-- it's all below. But I need a full muscle repair (so a mini is out).
I am scheduled for Breast Lift, Implant Exchange, and Tummy Tuck. I am 5'7 and weigh 135 pounds. My doctor said I don't have enough skin to pull down during the tummy tuck and that I will likely have a small vertical scar where the old belly button was. He is giving me the option of the TT with small vertical scar or doing the Umbilical Float TT and my belly button would be lowered. I have a long torso, but some skin laxity above the belly button. What would be best?
I saw a plastic surgeon to discuss tummy tuck. He thought since the skin on my upper belly was good & my bb wouldn't go all the way to low incision, he thought I should do umbilical float vs traditional with a vertical scar where old bb is. I like the thought of no extra belly button scar and shorter horizontal scar but I've seen many posts that say the results aren't good (either bb too low or skin not tight enough). I'm 5'4, 115 lbs, 3 kids & workout almost daily. Pics from 2 diff days
I had a tummy tuck with a floating belly button procedure. My belly button was moved approximately 3 inches lower than its normal position. This was needed to remove the excess skin on my stomach. Is there a surgery to relocate it back to where it was or at least closer to the original position? Is there any fix for this problem?
Hi, I had ask a similar question in another post, but never posted photos. I am now 8 months post tummy tuck with umbilical float. My belly button sits 2 cm lower, than before. What is bothering the most is a small lump I have above my belly button. I cant do any core work without discomfort and it feels like is going to pop out when I cough or sneeze. Also when I contract my muscle laying down it pops out like if it was my muscle. My surgeon told me it was my muscle, but i am not sold. help!
