Hi I have dents on my nose from glasses that always making me insecure, i went to a doctor and he suggested a rhinoplasty, but Im so afraid to undergo a big surgery like rhinoplasty to fix some dents, so I heard lately about this thing called Silikon 1000 which is used as a permenant filler for the nose, but I dont know if its safe for the long-term what do you think?
I am very much interested in using Silicon 1000; however, several facial plastic surgeons on this site have given many reasons why they do not feel that it should be used in rhinoplasty, i.e.possibility of infection, inflammation, granulomas, migration over time. I understand the possibilities, but it has been used for some time now, and as far as I can see, these bad outcomes have been theoretical.
I am considering getting silikon 1000 in my nose for the supraalar pinching. What are the chances of having a reaction years later? I have read people having rashes or their faces swelling up/blowing up years later, but not sure if they're referring to medical or industrial silicone. For ex: Carol Bryan. The info out there is confusing. Also what are the chances of a revision rhinoplasty going bad? Which has a higher chance of coming out badly? Traditional revision rhinoplasty or silikon 1000?
I had 3 rhino before and silikon 1000 was inyected to make my nose more natural but it made wide and with a constant inflammation this material was injected in the nasal tissue SMARS in the nostril not in the middle tip but in the two sides, I think this is the worst mistake i ever done can this be remove surgical with incisions without damaging the skin? Or the cartilage if I do an X-ray to see where this thing is located please help!!!
Ive read some reviews of surgeons who use Silikon 1000 injections after performing open rhinoplasty in case the desired results werent achieved with surgery alone. Is this safe/necessary? Also, if desired results still were not achieved, how would these injections affect a secondary/revision rhinoplasty? Thanks
I had a rhinoplasty to remove a dorsal hump from a previously broken nose. I was unsatisfied with the results and had a revision rhinoplasty to smooth out the bridge. A year later there is still a small bump on the left side corner of my bridge. I really dont want to go in for another revision. Would using silicon 1000 right below and above the bump be able to camouflage it? Or would a revision be most appropriate?
Dear Doctors, The areas from sides of nose to mid and lower cheeks are way too full. I believe this is due to a combination of fillers, old fat injections and scar tissue from extra large cheek implant removal. Can this area be diminished? If there are nerves there, can't these nerves be carefully avoided and whatever is there be excised? and last of all can this be done during a face lift? thank you
I'm seeking a permanent non-surgical nose job filler. However after reading many reviews on artefill, it seems like granulomas are common. A few surgeons have told me that granulomas were common with the old artefill formula but not with the new one. I do see that silkon-1000 is often used for non-surgical rhinoplasty and the percentage of satisfaction seems much higher. Is silikon 1000 safer than artefill? If injected correctly would granulomas still occur several years down the line?
