I had a septoplasty with inferior turbinate submucous resection oo(oabout 50%) about 8 months ago. I also had a rhinoplasty. Since then the air I breathe in feels cold (it used to feel colder) and my nose gets very dry at night time. I have no problems breathing via my nose. Since the surgery the roof of my mouth feels dry and cold. My tongue is really dry. The surgery was a complex one as my turbinates were very enlarged. My doctor says its all healing well. When/will this stop?
I had septoplasty and bilateral turbinate reduction 8 weeks ago. When I breathe, the air feels very cold and dry (even inside a warm room) and immediately I feel air on my throat and to my lungs (cold, dry). Ive been doing rinses, using humidifier and keeping nostrils moistened but Im worried that my turbinates are not functioning properly. Also my voice is sounding nasal since the surgery even though it seems the swelling has subsided. Are these symptoms likely to balance out with more time?
I'm 2 weeks post-op and just caught a cold. Things were starting to feel better after surgery. But now i caught a cold or sinus infection. It's terrible, can't breathe at all through the nose now. I use saline every day. However I need to blow my nose all the time now, am I doing any damage to my surgery results? I can't help it. Don't know what else to do, not allowed to use xylometazoline etc. As I had a 5 year addiction before surgery.
I was punched in the nose and Im a candidate for a septoplasty. Severe valve collapse. 100% on one side and 70% on the other. In addition, it caused a dorsal hump on my nose that actually hurts me. When I breathe, it feels like that cold/sore sensation in that area which also causes headaches all the time. I know insurance doesnt cover it, but am I looking at thousands of dollars to shave the hump? Do I have a pinched look nose also? It also leans towards the left now some.
I'm scheduled to have endoscopic sinus surgery and a septoplasty in a couple of week and feel as though I'm getting a head cold that usually turns into a sinus infection (which is partially why I'm getting the surgery). If I happen to have a sinus infection the day of surgery will they still perform it since that is the problem they plan on correcting anyway?
I had septoplasty one month ago due to repeated sinus infections cold symptoms muscles aches and extream fatigue. After surgery I can see very slow improvement. Less dizziness nd fatigue but frequent sore throat, ear tightness all the time. No more blood and crust now but when I blow my nose some green thick mucus with dark bloody crust come. I HV dirty foul smell, still feel lightheadness sometimes. Asked my surgeon he said f9. My Improvement is OK? How much time it will take fully recovered.
I had a septoplasty in right nostril and left concha bullosa surgery on May 5th '16. I did not have any splints and instead had a nose pack for a 5 days. I had to travel (20 hour flight) for work 3 weeks after my surgery and i still have cold, swelling and tip of my nose still hurts. My nose gets congested every 2-3 days and have diffulty breathing with my nose. I also noticed traces of blood in mucus since last 2 days. Is this normal? How long does it take to cold/flu like symptoms to disappear?
